the joke doesn't work because if there's one thing in this life I'm certain of it's that my TBR is neverending and will always provide
when goodreads automatically emails me to be like "you finished [book]!! what's next?" and I gotta be like I don't know goodreads. I really just don't know
I've written up a brief script for anyone who wants to call or write your representatives regarding this bill (yes, even the ones you think won't care). PLEASE DO THIS IF YOU ARE ABLE. This bill *cannot* pass.
You can find your representatives here: www.congress.gov/members/find...

This is gorgeouss oh my god
A sketch of Love and Death framed in an oval composition. The word "Aspettami" (Wait for Me) is written at the bottom. Death is ghostly green with matching pale wings. Half of their face begins to reveal a skull but is slightly covered by a dark semi-transparent veil. Their clothes and veil are a dark green that appears almost black and is lined/embroidered in gold thread and tasseled beads. They wear a couple of gold rings on their hands with one bearing a bright red gem. Death gazes to the side, searching for their lover who leans above them from behind. Love has pale red skin and flaming red wings and hair to match. Their hair is wavy and shoulder length, which is partially styled into a bow at the front and a top bun in the back of their head. Pinning their bun in place is a golden arrow hairpin placed in the bun with red gems and a pearl. Love is dressed in dark maroon clothes with giant golden puffy sleeves with a flair of lace at the wrist. With one hand they reach to gently cup the face of Death, while the other holds a red rose by their beloved's head.
"Do you miss me my darling? As I miss you?
Take my hand and pull me near
And never let me go again my dear"

I believe the whole point of making art is to be delighted by making it. Or perhaps more precisely to be gratified by making it--some art, for instance, comes from anger, and while anger is not delightful it is important to express, explain, convey, etc. That expression is gratifying.
Oh shit, #BandcampFriday is this Friday AND there are EIGHT planned for this year! Good job, Bandcamp team!
If you're not familiar, on BCF, Bandcamp waives its cut of the profits, meaning 100% of your money goes to the artist. I've got a few great albums on my wishlist that I'm gonna grab
CONGRATS!!! what a pretty print aa! I'm late to the party but excited to see the comic is getting a printed version! 🤩
i am so humbled by the support for this, the project funded in less than 12 hours AND we hit the first stretch goal for mini prints?! thank you so much 🙇♂️💕💨
sometimes you discover something wonderful and momentarily forget you live in hell. Then you realize the beautifully crafted Anki deck with native speakers is occasionally supplemented with AI-generated audio of the words being read incorrectly by a computer and it's like ah yes
I miss when the cute animal videos my family sent me were real. I miss when I could enjoy a creative or inventive work instantaneously instead of after a cautious beat. I miss these tiny simple joys so much and the fact that their loss comes at such tremendous cost is the ultimate insult to injury

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.
You could be next.

Heeeyy, we can finally talk about this! So, I would like to co-sign everything in this open letter. I would also like to tell everyone about a specific grievance that @femonologue.bsky.social and I have with Xellette after the mishandling of our kickstarter. Screencap/receipts in🧵 to follow!
A lot of us have actually made a webcomic ring called Chimera Comics after we left hiveworks: chimeracomics.org
This isn't the full list as some artists want their hands completely washed of the situation, but this is a start!
Hiveworks Guild logo. Two bees sitting on a bee hive holding hands.
The Hiveworks Artist Guild has released a public statement alleging years of labor abuses, financial mismanagement, and misconduct at Hiveworks at the hands of Xellette “Xel” Velamist and Isabelle “Isa” Melançon. Read their full statement at:

Weird to be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Am Rev while living under a government that has a) sent armed troops to occupy cities perceived to be too rebellious, b) rendered largely irrelevant the representative branch of government, and c) claimed imperial right to rule other countries.
