I would be interested to know where this thing was actually parked because I seriously doubt it was Iraq. Iraq has virtually no coastline except for a few kilometers adjoining Iran, where I doubt there are any tankers hanging out at the present time.
Have you ever actually looked at a map of Iraq???? It has virtually no coast except a few kilometers that border Iran where I suspect there are no tankers hanging out.

Just by the nature of what they are carrying, LNG tankers have a strange structure. Most large ships flex in a designed (but rather alarming) way but LNG ships, from what I understand, are very rigid.
Apparently taken from another merchant ship in the area.
This is bigger than many people understand. It is one of a rather limited number of ships that service the russian arctic gas port.
