Like fuck you actually when I go swimming the last thing I want to think about is how my body does or does not fit into mainstream beauty standards!!! Who cares if I got a belly I'm going swimming???? Fuck you a thousand times, fat girl summer is coming for you soulless motherfuckers

11.03.2026 00:28 ๐Ÿ‘ 7 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Idk I just don't think anyone of any size needs to be told "this body part is ugly and despicable and should be covered at all costs" actually!!! Ive been fat since I was a kid and it's so fucking damaging!!! And oh my god it's so hard to unlearn ๐Ÿ˜ญ

11.03.2026 00:25 ๐Ÿ‘ 7 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Getting a lot of ads for swimsuits designed for "covering bellies" and I gotta say that shit enrages me so bad. I am actively trying to heal & unlearn the hate for my fat bod. By far my biggest insecurity is still my belly and suddenly I'm getting flooded by ads telling me yes, that's fucking ugly!

it's always "i love fat women!!1!" until fat women have stretch marks or acne or don't wear makeup, don't shave, aren't hourglass shaped, or basically aren't an idealized version of a fat hyper-feminine woman

Had a remarkably Normal Person Dream and as someone who never fucking dreams it was so vivid and similar to dreams I used to have all the time as a tiny little pre-traumatized kid but lowkey forgot about so I've been having a weird day just mulling it over in my head. What does it mean. Why now

Gift of Judith Riklis, 1983(1983.546.4)
Recorded provenance: Judith Riklis, New York, by 1983
The top of this vessel was modeled in the shape of a war club with the head of a fox and tiny human arms. War clubs and other elements likely taken as trophies from a defeated enemy were painted on the side of the vessel. The fox's helmet strap holds down a vine of chili peppers, perhaps underscoring an association between the spice's heat and the pain caused by the club.โ€

Gift of Conny and Fred Landmann, 1992 (1992.60.8)
Recorded provenance: Conny and Frederick E. Landmann, New Hampshire, by 1992
Moche artists were close observers of the natural world, and their early ceramics often depicted animals with considerable fidelity.
Made before molds were commonly used, these effigies demonstrate an expansion of the sculptural possibilities of clay vessels.
Some vessels captured salient features of animals two-dimensionally; in later centuries, slip painting would become the favored means to convey ideas.โ€

official museum photo of the object, quarter turn profile
small painted papier mรขchรฉ figure of a chonky white / black / red dog with a bamboo basket on its head

โ€œThey are used as lucky charms to pray for safe childbirth and the healthy growth of children.
Safe Childbirth: Because dogs give birth relatively easily and have multiple puppies, they symbolize fertility and easy labor.
Protection: They act as "guardian dogs" to ward off evil spirits and are believed to take on any physical misfortunes in place of the child.
The "Basket-Wearing" Dog (Zaru-kaburi Inu) is a play on words: the kanji for "bamboo" placed over "dog" resembles the kanji for "to laugh", symbolizing a home filled with laughter and health (as the basket also helps "drain" away sickness).โ€
