ironically it makes the case for war so much stronger. because the conservatives who advocate for it speak in lofty terms about the necessity of regime change and the importance of destroying Iranian weapons. And the dems just say, welp, gas might get expensive for a while or something

i think basically that I wouldn't care about the war if it was just a matter of gas prices going up by a dollar right now and six american soldiers dying. This sort of rhetoric just makes it so easy to not give a shit, it encourages total political apathy
