Hey, you got a response!

It's a beautiful cat but no Easter egg, sorry!
Recently I've been playing mostly Bedrock, but that's because I want cross-play with Xbox. Otherwise I don't really have a preference, I switch between the two.
Yes, I play, but usually by myself.
Speedrunning is great! I think a "problem" in Minecraft is that too much is dependent on the seed, though. Makes it feel quite luck-based (or forcing the use of a seed-finder), but that's the case in many games.
Not really, unless you count add-ons, too. Last time I explored mods was when my son wanted a FNAF mod, and that was quite fun.
Yes, I agree with you. One thing to consider too is that Mending doesn't work on its own. You also need a source of enchanting power ("xp"), which creates the sub-goal of building grinders. This is not explicitly designed, but an outcome from the way systems interconnect, which is valuable too.
I will admit I'm not an expert on that particular topic. Java is fun, but today I would start any new game project in some different engine/language. However, if you already started, I wouldn't worry too much about OpenGL/Vulkan. Focus on finding the fun.
I don't quite follow what you are talking about, but the point about impermanence is that Minecraft is a journey and not a destination. I love that you are talking about a "forever world", but a forever shouldn't mean it's static and never changes.
Pepperoni, I think
I'm happy to hear that!
Controversial opinion! π
I'm not so sure about spell-casting with mana points etc, but there are already "magical" items in Minecraft, such as the Totem of Undying.
Happy birthday! That looks great!
This is an amazing overview but as always I won't comment on future plans here on bluesky.
Yes, we talk about it from time to time, but usually in the context of the "old days when we tweeted a lot".

Tonight I will attend the Swedish Game Awards! Minecraft is nominated in the "Best Live Service Game" category.

In terms of "loud minority" we always need to balance time and priorities, but feedback is valuable for future work too, even if we can't always fix the specific thing the feedback was about.
Yes all the time
It's cute!
We had a conversation about this when the compass was added. I agree these features don't make any sense in hardcore, but there was an argument for players of other playstyles, too.
Thank you but I'm not sure why you tagged me

Minecraft is more popular than it's ever been!
Reformulations?
π There are too many things in that article to comment on, so I'll just say that I addressed the creeper topic here on bsky when it happened. I agree about the campfire problem, though I'd use the bed as a better example. The campfire is great because it adds motion and can be used for many things.
No
I haven't really thought of it. I think I've always assumed that they don't eat anything at all
