Stocks recoup some losses but close lower as Middle East conflict stirs up volatility | CNN Business Global stocks closed lower Tuesday after a volatile day that saw the Dow briefly tumble by more than 1,200 points as concerns linger among investors that the widening conflict in the Middle East could...

Hey, can someone ask Pam Bondi what level the Dow has to fall to before we hold pedos accountable?

The homer vehicle from the simpsons tv series.

The homer vehicle from the simpsons tv series.

Every time someone tells me they’re vibe coding an app, I think of this.

Not arguing that. But I’ve been wondering where they’ll get there next few life extensions. There’s a grift to be had in the short term.

We will see.

I don’t know, man. The Trump admin took a stake in Intel “for national security”.

They won’t call it a bailout.

Mark my words, this will be the excuse needed for a government bailout of OpenAI.

I host all my course videos on @bunny.net

The AI generated chapter markers are actually pretty good.

This is the kind of thing LLMs are useful for. Low stakes, manual, but predictable tasks.

It’s crazy to me how long it’s taking people to realize that GPUs are not like the fiber of the dot com era.

These things are paperweights after a few years.

Seeing Anthropic and Google complain about distillation is particularly delicious because those Chinese firms paid for API access, unlike certain companies that just looted the internet.

Let me break out the world’s smallest violin.

Your product has no moat.

No Rest for the Wicked, Abiotic Factor, and Dispatch are the best games I’ve played in the last year and it’s not close.

New Xbox boss promises no 'soulless AI slop' after moving over from Microsoft's CoreAI products division "We will not chase short-term efficiency or flood our ecosystem with soulless AI slop," said Asha Sharma, the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming.

Remember folks. If you want to break into gaming, you need a few years of experience with the exact tools in the job description.

If you want to be the CEO of Xbox, you need no gaming industry experience at all.

I have clients who are bringing back fizzbuzz style questions on a whiteboard because it destroys vibe learners.

There is a specific type of developer, I call them “copy, paste, flail” coders, who have pretty low comprehension and engineering skills.

They survived by grabbing code off the internet and hacking at it until it kind of works.

LLMs produce slightly better results but conceptually it’s the same.

As a trainer, I feel qualified to weigh in here.

Almost no difference. The people who were below average before were generally those that lacked aptitude and/or genuine curiosity and interest.

Both of those groups are very excited about generating as much code as possible.

New rule. We’re either in a “national emergency” or the president gets to golf.

Don’t worry advertisers, you’re not paying for bots.

Can’t wait to see how vibe coders handle this.

There is a generation of new devs whose minds are blown by the idea that you can retrieve HTML snippets from a server and update just parts of the page.

Congrats! In 2003 we called that AJAX.

Yes, my son, phones used to be physically attached to a wall and could, in a pinch, be used as bludgeoning weapons.

Happy Friday!

Just remember if you have AI anxiety that while AI CEOs are hyping worker replacement, Apple can't even get it to summarize emails and texts with Siri.

Crafting good assessments and feedback rubrics are arguably the most important and challenging parts of the learning experience.

The availability of AI tools has only increased the challenge.

What are your plans for proper assessment going forward?

One thing I've learned about the education space over the years is how bad the vendor lock-in is in this space.

I think I'm going to do something about it.

Stay tuned.

I would have to be pretty desperate for work to show up for an interview and find an AI avatar waiting for me and not just immediately close the session.

I wonder how many professionals with in-demand skills and employment options would do the same?

As an IT professional, let me assure the non tech audience that whatever level of concern you might have about DOGE and security leaks, isn’t enough.

I think many people don’t realize what a grind creating and growing a channel is.

I create because I love it, not because I want it to be my job.

I think most people just give up too early.

3…

SQL
One major OOP language (Java, C#, C++)
One major dynamic or scripting language (JavaScript, Python)

If you have three from those, you’ll quality for the most jobs.

Funny but not funny.

If the vibe coders took 6 months learning to code, they’d be orders of magnitude more productive.

Even if they luck their way to a viable product, someone with actual skill and the same tools can just make a better version.

Ask AI about second mover advantage.

22.03.2025 04:17 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

A funny thing to me about vibe coding is that most of these apps are easily built on no code platforms that have been around for years.

The tech illiterate people celebrating this just aren’t aware of them.

A little bit dark, but I have to ask people who live in high wage/high cost of living countries:

If all you're doing is prompting an AI tool to get all the work done, what makes you think anyone will pay you a living wage to do so? You're adding zero value to the process.

Anyone ever wonder why, if Open AI $10k /month senior dev is effective, why they wouldn’t just become a major software platform and destroy every other SASS company on the planet?
