In 2017, she became the worldβs youngest female leader. Ardernβs inspiring story makes us yearn for an era of courage and hope

I wish Patrick Harvie all the best for the future. Under his co-leadership, the Scottish Greens became a significant force in politics and l, through the Bute House Agreement, entered government for the first time. He should be proud of his achievements.

We are devastated that Christina McKelvie has passed. Christina was a remarkable woman: a force of nature, compassionate, and incredibly warm. We shared many values with her and know how committed Christina was to social justice, equality, and to doing everything she could to make Scotland the best it could be. In doing so, she was the best of us.
Christina was a formidable Member of the Scottish Parliament and one of the earliest supporters of our work. She played a pivotal role in ensuring that Scotland became the first country in the world to advance LGBT Inclusive Education. We will cherish the memories that we were privileged to create with her.
Our thoughts are with Keith, Jack, Lewis and all who knew and loved her. We will miss you, Christina.

Kind, compassionate and full of life. A politician who wore her heart on her sleeve and made the world a better place. She brought joy to everyone who knew her - especially to her soulmate, Keith, and her beloved boys, Lewis and Jack. Christina McKelvie MSP - I was so proud to call you my friend π

We wish @nicolasturgeon.bsky.social well following her announcement today to stand down as an MSP after decades of public service to Scotland. She has always supported GWL, & as First Minister, she officially opened our newly refurbished building in 2015, hailing GWL, ββ¦truly a national treasureβ

At Least Now We Know the Truth
Itβs ugly, but necessary to face.
What happened in the Oval Office today was horrifying - but, as this piece says, there is now no denying the truth of Trumpβs alignment with Russia. Everyone who values freedom, democracy and peace must stand full square with Zelensky and Ukraine.

B) I actually think it is a good thing for us to hear views that might challenge our preconceptions.
C) Whatever you think of her writing (have you even read it?) she is one of the least ignorant people you will ever encounter

Trumpβs Conquest of the Kennedy Center Is Accelerating
The president has begun purging the board of Washingtonβs premier arts organization.
Itβs hard to get a handle on whatβs happening in US. The flurry of activity is meant to blind us to the bigger picture & to stuff like this: Trump purging an arts centre board & making himself chair. On its own bad, but as part of the bigger pattern horrifying. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Nicola Sturgeon: βThe independence movement has proven itself resilientβ

Charisma explains so much in politics. To understand why the centre-left isn't winning, ask why it hasn't produced more politicians like Blair, Macron, Pedro SΓ‘nchez and Nicola Sturgeon.
