Something that you have brilliantly demonstrated in this thread by implying that FATAL is not a misogynistic screed of a game but rather some kind of vent for frustrated teenagers.

I never made any claims to the ability of art to influence someone's disposition. I said that maintaining the belief that art is ideologically neutral, and therefore has no reflection on its artist or audience is itself a behavior that blinds you to the ideology and ultimately leads you to defend it
No but they do cheat on each other
They must be forced to confront their own filth in public. That means you have to touch the filth. Nobody wants to touch the shit but that's the risk you gotta take to have a clean toilet.
These guys were allowed to fester because their interparty discourse was shielded by being unrepeatable. If you speak of it in hushed tones you make it sound dangerous and if you soften it you make yourself a joke.
You cannot mock these people unless you are personally willing to say slurs as part of the character. You cannot satirize someone who is shielded by the norms of marketability.
What pisses me off about these guys is they are elevated as "experts" in the field when they are actively exoticizing it.
Hey boss can't come into work today. Yeah, I can't afford to drive anymore
When I used the word radical did you think I was implying changing exclusively childcare and nothing else?
The answer is not relocating the child to the government sponsored trafficking system, it's parents get way fewer decisions, especially in regards to the child's health and education
I think the quality of a parent should not be a punishment for the child which is why we need to radically remove most parental rights
We have BloodBowl at home
I think this resonates with another nerd shibboleth re: sports and the not caring about them. If you play on a team you will quickly develop awareness of how people can have fun while taking a group effort somewhat seriously.
This is a real problem because taco night Carl will react to any level of "can we take this kind of seriously" akin to running this shit like the House of Lords while anyone who made the mistake of getting somewhat invested must continuously ratchet down their level of interest
We don't need rules for combat because in any conflict it's obvious who would win. We can determine the outcome without rules getting in the way of the fun.
Absent a system, you might find yourself in a fantastic realm where everyone, Prince to pauper, also agrees with Kyle's appeals to reddit atheism.
No matter how good you believe your argument is, whether it works or not hinges on the other person accepting it.
"you should, as a human, be able to tell if an approach is persuasive or not"
I actually think it's the inverse - whether you are persuasive is reliant on the other party agreeing to your persuasion"
Really tempted to redo my9games thing with Monster Train for the simple fact that it's better than Slay the Spire and people need to be informed.
If the only game you know revolves around dominance through violence then you interpret all socializing in the same way
Agreed wholeheartedly and jewishly
DC 17 gives me a specific number I need to beat to achieve my goals, "convince the GM could have any variance all the way up to 'the GM has decided the guard cannot be persuaded' and he's won't tell you"
In my experience roleplay persuasion has very little to do with any skill in speaking and more with how hard the GM is willing to stonewall you.

"players are familiar with magical weapons being the only thing that can harm intangible enemies, there's no reason to restate the obvious"
Rules-lite also means assumption heavy
Is it a Sluglite or Sluglike?

The loot crafting was more confusing and you had to use it because you got worse rolled equipment but much more of it
Nioh's development was extremely smart because it specifically builds on the general soulslike literacy of the gaming audience. I played the first alpha test and they originally had a much more Diablo-like approach to loot which they quickly course corrected.
