A New Chapter for Bluesky - Bluesky
After several intense and incredible years building Bluesky from the ground up, I've decided to step back as CEO and transition to a new role as Bluesky's Chief Innovation Officer.
I really want Bluesky to succeed & capture the 'old days' of Twitter, so seeing this announcement from them that Jay Graber is stepping down as well as her mentioning they need a "seasoned operator focused on scaling & execution", I do see as a positive thing for now

๐ฎ Completed Resident Evil Requiem this evening & absolutely loved it. Really fun, absorbing, high-quality & challenging with wide variety of gameplay & tons of fan service too. Capcom's RE Engine is one the best engines & looks fantastic. Looking forward to replaying this again! #RE9 #ResidentEvil

The new direction for F1 is proving to be entertaining with some great racing/strategy involved in this first Race, Mercedes vs. Ferrari look to be the main fight. But it's disheartening watching/hearing these cars actively slow down at the end of long, fast sections of the track... #F1 #AusGP

Evernote is one of my most-used Apps but getting told it's increasing by ยฃ6 per month, and now stuffed with AI features I never asked for, is really making me reconsider now.
Any other similar Apps that similar/simpler that work cross-device ...?

Not sure who on here watches 'Industry' on here but the final episode of the season was probably one of the most uncomfortable & unnerving episodes of a show I've watched in a while, need to talk to someone about it! Still an amazing series, even if it gets more unhinged #Industry #HBOIndustry

What Winter #Sport captured the most attention at the Olympics? Ice Hockey ๐ & double US gold ๐ฅ๐ฅ.
Airgo's #ShareofSearch data from the US during the games shows increased interest across a variety of sports, from Curling and Skiing to Ice Skating and Snowboarding. However, hockey came out on top.

Watched 'Dirty Business' earlier - quite a riveting docu-drama on river pollution in the UK, a great Channel 4 production - then followed by another great episode of #Industry on BBC. Whoever said appointment-to-view TV is dead?

The political effects of Xโs feed algorithm - Nature
Among users initially on a chronological feed, 7 weeks of exposure to Xโs algorithmic feed in 2023 shifted political attitudes and account-following behaviour in a more conservative direction compared...
Brainwashing, 2026 edition. This paper shows how X's algorithmic feed shifts people's views rightwards. It's a sophisticated, highly effective form of reorientation. And it is utterly chilling.
If you're still on that platform, unhook yourself now.

two things are simultaneously true:
The U.K., and London particularly, have incredibly diverse and good and complex food scenes with an amazing variety of offerings
And
not Mexican food tho

Former Prince Andrew Breaks a 379-Year Streak
The arrest of a disgraced royal could change the monarchy as we know it.
There goes the British royal familyโs 379-year streak of not having anyoneย in handcuffs

I was out around Carnaby Street the other night and there was a few of them wondering around with cameras, mini mics and all very, very loud - speaking to very drunk people, while filming them. Definitely wouldn't have been the case a number of years ago!

Channel 4 in the UK mandating that all TV Ads require closed-captions from March is such a good, important move ๐ "This ensures that our advertising is inclusive of the Deaf & hard of hearing communities, as well as viewers who benefit from enhanced accessibility.'

Meta Is Wrong to Try to Sneak Into Privacy Intrusion
Meta Platforms Inc. thinks weโre too distracted for a proper debate on facial recognition in a civilized society. Itโs imperative we prove the company wrong.
The โI have nothing to hideโ argument on privacy is dead. And everything Meta says publicly about its invasive and abusable glasses is bullshit. Great column from @davelee.me for @opinion.bloomberg.com

The one good thing we have in the UK when it comes to Finance Product Advertising is that the FCA ensure that relevant risk warnings are clearly mentioned - anything Crypto-related especially has a large clear disclaimer, giving consumers plenty of info on risk - regardless of quality of the Ad!
