After four days of hesitating, the president of France has joined the prime minister of Spain in saying that the 🇺🇸🇮🇱 attack on Iran is a violation of international law.
But they are still the only 2 EU leaders to have done so. Will others join?

Starmer is certainly no Churchill, but given Churchill's flaws that's just as well. Trump on the other hand is behaving increasingly like Hitler, only anti-muslim rather than antisemitic.
Media must stop normalizing the far right
Every uncritical mention of far-right rhetoric is an editorial decision with political consequences

A lot of us would rather see the back of the lot of them ..
Listening to BBC R4 and hearing that Trump is once again selling out Ukraine is making me so angry 😡
Whatever Putin has on the orange fool it cannot justify his repeated prevarication - does he not realise his behaviour is costing innocent lives?
It must be more than just hotel watersports...
“The dense interconnectedness of the human family… means that in terms of our biology, there are no different races. We can all claim ancestry from across the world. Nevertheless, our politics is obsessed with distinctions based on national identity…” Gaia’s article more relevant than ever:
This is exactly the sort of information about Reform that should be out there and picked up by the national media. A catalogue of ineptitude, incompetence and criminality.
When the BBC and Laura Kuenssberg ask ‘Who’s in charge?’ My automatic answer is ‘Not you’. You have no preferential treatment, no cosy moments, no intimacy with Keir Starmer and his government. And I for one like it that way.
Who shifted to the right again?
Lots of time and effort has gone into the Independent Water Commission, which reports tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's a largely wasted exercise, because the government insisted that renationalisation of the water companies was outside its terms of reference: ie, it was not allowed to consider it.🧵
Hashtag gains global popularity as Israel continues to kill Palestinians seeking food and children die of malnutrition.
Pleased to be in this list of women calling for asylum seekers to be included in the Government’s plan to tackle violence against women & girls. Violence doesn’t stop at the border - and neither should our compassion for survivors @4refugeewomen.bsky.social
Government launches Orgreave inquiry, 40 years after clashes at miners’ strike
I'm now blocking anyone stating that people protesting vs the government's ban on Palestine Action deserve to be arrested. Yeah, sure, it's an opinion and you're welcome to it. But if you can't understand what's wrong with arresting peace campaigners under the Terrorism Act, I have no time for you.
In recent weeks hundreds of Palestinians have been killed while waiting for food and aid

The People’s plan for water. The plan calls on the Government:
Start a shift to public ownership, using new laws and legal tools we have.
Give us input into how water is run, because we all depend on it.
Make polluters pay for their own mess, not the public.

Peace, justice, and equity are not achieved overnight. They are built through persistence, courage, and collective action.

✌️✊ to all.
Where is the moral panic?
Where are @lisanandy and @Keir_Starmer?
Or are we saying Rod Liddle can use his national platform to call for state violence and it’s fine
But if Bob Vylan chants about actual state violence it’s “incitement”?
At least try to be consistent.
From yesterday - could be even more relevant today
"We hate war and injustice."
British punk duo Bob Vylan explained their pro-Palestine stance at a gig in Greece. It was their first performance since Glastonbury, where their controversial 'death to the IDF' chant sparked backlash.
Our privatised water system is broken - and water lobbyists have worked hard to shut down alternatives. In July the People’s Commission is launching a people-first vision for our water in Parliament.Your MP needs to hear about it: actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...
Commit genocide and you can participate in the Olympics, World Cup and Eurovision. Object to genocide and you can't even do gigs at Glastonbury.
Too much tax is being paid by ordinary working people, and too little is being paid by people who have high levels of wealth, investment income and capital gains. Companies are also not paying their fair share.

He's right.
But also: this was exactly how some of us warned the Terrorism Act 2000 would be used when it was passed, by the government in which Peter Hain was a minister. He and all the others either ignored or dismissed our warnings. It's very frustrating.
This will probably come as no surprise to anyone

In 1996 a group of women damaged a warplane destined to bomb East Timor. Found not guilty of criminal damage by Liverpool jury as action was ‘reasonable’ under Genocide Act 1969. Awarded the Seán McBride Peace Prize. @wikipedia.org
Same act now ‘terrorism’ and Palestine Action to be banned. Absurd.
