Broad rule: under tradpub structuring, if money is flowing from you as the author, you are being scammed.
Other people will get paid *upstream* from you from the book's proceeds, but you shouldn't have to be writing people checks.

One of the things I need to add to this is that you need to be careful about people NOT IN YOUR INDUSTRY reading your contract. A good lawyer who understands contract but is not a publishing industry professional will flag for you that there are things they don't understand!

The UK Online Safety act is trying to ban access to Wikipedia.
It ain't about safety.
What the 'Online Safety' act does is hide serious topics from everyone unless they give up their personal ID, under the guise that children shouldn't see it. Well, I think children should be able to read Wikipedia actually, darker topics and all.
Anyway this doesn't protect children. Parents/guardians not giving them free reign of the entire internet protects them. Being adequately taught about internet safety and what to do when they see potentially upsetting content protects them.
I just cant wait for Wikipedia to be banned, you know? /S
The UK government's response to the petition against the Online Safety Act is that they have no intention of repealing it and are working to implement it as quickly as possible so that "users can benefit from it's protections". Ha.
