My daughter reported that the ICE presence outside her school during recess last week involved ICE officers sitting IN AN ICE CREAM TRUCK. And this wasn't kids misinterpreting. We had an email from the school the day it happened; we just didn't get the ice cream detail in the email.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals eliminates the pathway to release from detention that freed a Salvadoran man in Jackson Parish Correctional Center in Jonesboro, La. in October 2025.
As someone who was starting a PhD program when I got married - I hyphenated my last name and told my partner that his name would not be on any of my degrees or academic work. When I got divorced the year I finished my PhD I was glad about the latter but realized I never should've hyphenated either.

Once again reminding everyone that the majority of people stranded in the UAE are not influencers or expats or tourists, but South Asian (and SE Asian and African) workers whose passports are often controlled by their employers and whose govts have made no attempts to repatriate.
ICE has arrested and detained a Nashville journalist who reported stories critical of ICE. She’s married to a U.S. citizen and has been seeking asylum here after fleeing death threats in Colombia because of her journalism there.
They’ve already sent her to Louisiana.
