I agree they are not up to the job. Schumer in particular is a politician of another era. He is up in 2028 and I hope he decides not to run again.
Well, he wanted to be all things to all peopleβ¦just didnβt anticipate those would be bad things.
Let's talk about the way Kickstarter works. The company is fully remote, with a four-day workweek. As many companies call people back to the office and hustle culture gains momentum, why run Kickstarter this way? When I came into Kickstarter, we had a beautiful office. It felt like a kingdom. Some of our most valued employees had moved upstate or moved across the country. I wanted to be empathetic at a time where a lot of C.E.O.s were like, "We need to make people return back to the office." I have a very high bar for work and excellence. As long as you're meeting that bar, I want to make sure that you're living a fulfilled and beautiful life.
This is exactly what I wrote about in When Weβre in Charge - this is next-gen leadership in a nutshell. A high bar for excellence combined with a high priority on balance. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/01/b...

Crockett and AOC are great. Sanders is in his eighties, though.
Iβm leaning toward Pritzker and Kelly too.
AOC? I hope Schumer retires and she runs for his seat. Sheβd be a brilliant senator.
