Congrats!! Jo - Iβm coming to Australia finally π₯³ - will work on a project with @natmunro.bsky.social and be based in Sydney Jul 25-Dec 26. We should try and catch up! π
Publication alert! We qualitatively explored the potential impact of attention, receptive language, statistical learning, and working memory on nonverbal intelligence test performance for children with #ADHD and #DevLangDis

Amazing! Will read and use next time I do PD on DLF for psychologists! ππ€©
And I hope my advocacy (and othersβ) have helped too π
My reflection: Increased awareness in general, and researchers previously focusing on children and dyslexia realising the prevalence and impact of (D)LD in adolescen/adults. +More focus on language demands in schools partly due to Sweden moving from a βmonolingualβ to multilingual country.
I know! π see you in a few π»
The most common neurodevelopmenal disorder most people havenβt heard aboutβ¦. and cannot see!
Great and important theme for this yearβs #DLDday #DevLangDis

Yes. And also bc the original count / Methods is very problematic as it is (Purpura, 2019). pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31625601/
Just published π₯³! Development and validity of the grammatical comprehension classroom screener GRA from the Legilexi foundation. Our analyses using IRT-modelling show good ability to detect students with comprehension challenges in the first year of Swedish school. publicera.kb.se/al/article/v...
I am beginning my review for updating my #WesternDLD2 course for Fall 2025. Boulton et al. report on caregiver-identified strengths in children undergoing an assessment. Their Child Autism and Neurodevelopment Strengths (CANS) checklist is open access: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...
Enjoyed this paper by Choi-Tucci et al on recasting: pubs.asha.org/doi/10.1044/...
Enhanced conversational recasting is what counts with (1) High variability - make 8 words on target into 24 by coming up with 2 synonyms for each & (2) get child's attention otherwise your recast doesn't count!
Great!! And see to down under?! π¦πΊπ¦ moving to Aus/Syd to collaborate with @natmunro.bsky.social for 18 months - starting in July!! π€©π₯³
