Scenes from the cavernous desert planet Rhiotara, alongside a view of the planet itself. The scenes focus specifically on the vast, layered caverns beneath the planet's surface, containing its own vibrant ecosystem, weather patterns and water cycle. Down here, kiteras build sprawling cities that jut from the floor and ceiling like stalactites and stalagmites among the abundant crystal formations. Scenes from Asteria's childhood here are also shown; in one panel, young Asteria is shown having just finished a fight with a bigger, older kitera who was bullying a small arctic kitera. in a different scene, Asteria is sitting on the roof of a building with her younger sister while they eat red crystals. another scene shows asteria's sister is talking to some other kitera kids. she says "My sister's the coolest ever! In one panel, Boki's friend Tonzid (a Velvet Ant ploctite) is introducing her to another ploctite nymph, saying: "This's Boki, she's big and strong and made of diamonds".
