It felt like every time I wanted to do something that just worked on windows, I had to spend hours troubleshooting and trying different things to end up with a worse, jankier and unreliable result at the end!

I think the thing I liked most was the customisation and the lack of bloat, but that came at the cost of HDR, Sunshine virtual display, Stream Deck keyboard in shortcuts, plus a bunch of other stuff that kept breaking with every update
I was using Nobara on my Desktop for about a month, but I kept having to make compromises or just accept that I wouldn't be able to do certain things like I could on W11 (which sounds crazy considering it's meant to be the other way round) and I was working more than enjoying it!
That is a worry for sure, however I'm glad these are just aesthetic changes in that case!
Linux had too many frustrations I wasn't filling to work around.
But it turns out you can customise Windows 11 quite nicely if you know how.
I couldn't have got back into Guitar Hero at a better time really
Enjoy PokΓ©mon! And the 7 hour battery life that you get from just emulating GBA games
π
Nah you're all good, the sites on the site I linked are all ad free and safe. There aren't really viruses on Linux either, most target windows!
No VPN needed either, these aren't torrents or anything, just database and file hosting sites!
It will appear in emulationstation, or if you're using Steam Rom Manager you can parse in that to find the games and add them to Steam!
This can all be done on the deck too, no usb device or PC needed.
r-roms.github.io
Choose your console here, search for the game you want and download it. Move the downloaded game to that console's rom folder.
Should be somewhere like home/emulation/roms.
Get Fire Red and Leaf Green on your Deck, save yourself Β£30, and enjoy a nicer screen!
We're losing a huge name in games preservation because of AI now? This sucks so fucking hard.
Not the best print quality, but another vision successfully realised
The great thing about these PS5 ports is that you don't need insane specs to play them!
No mention of DLSS or frame gen anywhere. Lovely.
Happy birthday dude.
Been prototyping a pegboard/Gridfinity combo that will let me keep things in little boxes on the side of the desk, it can hold a surprising amount of weight!
Insanity.
God damn dude this is incredible. Glad your talents are being used correctly!
4) Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Mount
I love playing the Switch 2 on my OLED monitor, but couldn't find a place for it that didn't add a bunch of cable mess.
I modelled a bracket for under my desk, which is held in place with magnets (for stability) and bolts.
3) Philips Hue Play Bar Mounts & Desk Shelf
I designed a mount for the Hue play bars that friction fits my desk, is rotatable, and lets me route the cables so they're invisible.
The desk shelf is new, I just modelled and printed some simple legs that I glued in place.
2) Chair neck rest pillow adapter
The Corsair TC1000 assumes you're 5 foot 8 for some reason, so the neck rest pillow sits right between my shoulder blades.
I modelled and printed an adapter that suits my 6 foot frame.
1) Controller mounts that attach to the leg of my desk.
I connect all my controllers to my PC via a USB cable now, so this keeps them out of the way for quick access.
I've been going a bit crazy on the 3D printer to tidy and organise my gaming and work space. Here's everything I've designed and printed π§΅
This weekend's project: turn a Β£10 Facebook marketplace shelf into a desk shelf, complete with hidden magnetic features (like a wireless charger)
Maybe next weekend I'll play some games...
Happy Bannatyne's Day β€οΈ
Dunc your Bannatyne for someone special today
The Corsair 400D wood panel was Β£5 (down from Β£40) so obviously I got one...
The more pressure you put them under, the more resilient they are...
So yes!
Waking up in a world with NEW Castlevania games coming out this year.
Wild.
Probably the best state of play ever for me.
Resident Evil!
Castlevania!
Saros!
Control: Resonant!
Legacy of Kain!
Something seems off about the 2D God of War game though, didn't look as good as I'd imagined it to...
Finally!
