9. Beware reflexive retweeting. Some of this is on you.

Michel-Rolph Trouillot's Silencing the Past (though most of concerns 19th-c. Haiti, it also discusses 20th-c. US historicity). Overall, it's perfect for getting grads to think about how history works and who gets to tell it, etc. In my grad seminar on the production of history, students loved it.
