finally putting my vintage magazines in protective sleeves.
but in case you were ever wondering what the girlies were reading in summer of 1902:
“an illustrated monthly magazine devoted to the home and to the discussion of subjects most interesting to the household”

strong murder mystery start lost to slow-burn romance & letter chainmail. sinister stuff takes backseat. narrators great with emotion but breathy audio distracts. ending makes me curious for book two. fans of Ava Reid will like it.

it’s a slowwww burn over letters, dark academia, regency vibes, murder mystery, hidden talents.
Noted 😉
well consider me intrigued. 👀

overall not a bad introduction to nikki st crowe retellings.
This had a slow start but overall wasn’t bad. It was a bit 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘳 than the original story but nothing i’d cosider “dark” if that makes sense. overall not a bad liste

25% unless you’re a die-hard Wizard of Oz fan, so far, this has been a snooze fest.

“Are you interested in this ad?” My brother in christ I have never been interested in a fucking ad
I think since you already have an inkling of what you’re getting into, it won’t be as much of a shock. it has short chapters so the pacing of it goes pretty fast, overall think you’ll make it 😅

there’s a lot going on as far as descriptors go, but none of it is meant to be pleasant. it’s blasé in its delivery and honest in its execution.

February Reads + Book Haul.
Overall, didn't have a bad month. Loving this more mindful approach to reading and not rushing to read whatever is currently getting hyped; I'll get to it when I get to it.

charming small town romance! Look, I don’t think this was meant to be a romcom, but Zachary Webber narrating a teenage Indy was hilarious, and his overall performance added an extra layer of entertainment that makes the audiobook worth checking out.

like Criminal Minds but with a romantic subplot. Really appreciate the level of detail that TW puts into her books and the web she spins in her stories, always a treat.

dark romance done right.
story gets dark and vulnerable. author approaches taboo subject well. loved the flow of the story and writing. appreciated the side characters identified as being MX🇲🇽 w/o having to drop random spanish words throughout.

I want to say this audiobook was redone and recasted with Jacob Morgan and, aye….😏 Trisha Wolfe knew what she was doing. Psychooigical romantic thrillers like this are always welcome on my tbr.

Has some sociopolitical commentary, interesting cutesy YA stuff stuff but it put me in a hard reading slump so i’m just high-key glad it’s over. 😀
