Fellow developers, what are your thoughts on showcasing your developer profile on GitHub vs. Gitlab? I've been a long time GitLab user, but I'm considering switching to GitHub. The public profile features on GitHub seem superior and are more aesthetically pleasing. Worth switching??
You know how people do drastic things when they're going through hard times? They'll get a tattoo, piercing or a new hair cut?
Well, I've been going through it while searching for a job.
But instead of giving myself a make-over, I gave my website one

For those of you who have built web apps that require integration with shipping services (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.), does anyone have any 3rd party APIs they recommend as wrappers??
If I had $1 for every time the word 'unfortunately' showed up in my email while applying for jobs, I'd be gainfully employed ๐ฐ ๐ฐ
I'm so guilty of pressing the red button haha

For anything HashiCorp, I highly recommend Udemy courses by Bryan Krausen. He's amazing. The two I used to personally prep are:

If you want any recommendations on resources for your terraform certs, let me know! At my previous role, I led all our HashiCorp engagements and was in charge of getting consultants the terraform training they needed. There's some great content out there!
I feel like going from $0 MRR -> $1 MRR is the hardest part :P
Recently, I've been building an opinionated, Next.js bootstrap toolkit to help devs launch SAAS apps. If you'd like to try it (soon) or follow along, signup on our website, https://fastsaas.co, or join our Discord, https://buff.ly/4gOUM54!

I'll be continuing to build on new years day. I"m a few weeks away from shipping :)

I didn't know it at the time, but before being laid off, I was definitely 'stuck' in a situation that wasn't making me happy.
I still have absolutely no clue what's next. But I guess sometimes, the unexpected pushes us in the direction we didnโt know we needed.
Being forced to pause and relax (something I NEVER do), has given me an opportunity to re-evaluate my prioritizes & what's important, has re-kindled my love for programming and gave me an opportunity to learn new skills that I never would have otherwise (carpentry).
This year certainly didn't go as expected.
I was unexpectedly laid off in August - a moment that shattered my confidence and sense of stability.
Now that the dust had settled and I've had a chance to reflect, it may be a blessing in disguise.
Nice work! :)
I use the +30 seconds button for nearly everything I put in the microwave. I could survive if it was literally the only button. haha
For those of you who have built SAAS services from the ground up, what are your absolute 'must have's in terms of features for the framework you chose to you? Obviously you need authentication, authorization, payments, etc., but what other features are on your must have list?
