Sadly, the club has gambled on the fitness of the same group of players every second of every game and hoping they all stayed fit.

It’s a disastrous miscalculation that has cost the club a real chance at the title and the long-term fitness of key players.

- Relied on Saka/Martinelli/Havertz playing every minute of every game

- Relied on the fitness of an injury-prone Jesus

- Failed to sign a striker in two windows, despite having a depleted attack

Utterly negligent. A complete failure in how to run a football club.

I am so appalled by that Michael Oliver decision. You will never see that given as a red card again. Just like you’ll never see second yellow cards for the Trossard or Rice incidents.

Football is hard enough without corrupt referees determined to decide the outcomes of games.

A good (albeit chaotic) game of football. Pleased Gabriel Jesus has found some confidence and proven he still has the talent to turn things around. Questions to be asked about the quality of our squad outside the first team, but let’s enjoy qualifying for the semi-finals now.

Full time. The score reflects our dominance. Clean sheet too. Decent subs by Arteta, that changed the course of the game.

Really surprised Martinelli has stayed on.

We’ve been comfortable and should be leading by more than a goal. Martinelli close to being sent off. Would replace him for Trossard.

Worried about the left side of defence but the rest of our team and bench look strong. It should be enough. Any win will do.

Haven’t seen any clubs pulling their agreements with gambling companies, despite it not aligning with certain players’ “beliefs”.
