Alas, too slow! never mind eh. But for another time, is a classic barnstormer better as a bet, or a new and shiny trendy tune?

Everyoneβs gotta have a hobby!
because if the latter then I wonβt put my hand up for it, someone else might be better
I have never taken part in any of this before but Iβd be interested in Brazil (am half Brazilian & love the music) But I am old and square! Would I be better off picking something I really love from the 70s or would that be likely to get no excitement and phonk would be better?
Ah! congrats on the free time and on the cushion to consider whatβs next. Good luck with the interim gap!
Oh what! Again?!
You need the Hadrian Clog Dancers mate (cattonvillagehall.org.uk/eventer/hadr...) - other cloggers also available of course

Sorry if it was obvious and unnecessary advice! It's the sort of thing that if someone did without knowing about it could give a really big problem for them, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Ah, mad as a box of frogs *and* a troll.
www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwel...
and apparently bat bites are *very* very hard to spot, you need to preemptively check it out if there is any chance. www.bats.org.uk/advice/i-thi...
Did you touch/handle the bat yourself with bare hands? I understand that they carry all sorts of things and you do need to be concerned about your own health as well - though good on you for rescuing it!
The reply guy in question is just trolling. Instablock. I mean possibly it is just someone who is as mad as a frog but I think it's someone likely to be doing it on purpose.

Very concerning. The Iranian regime has long targeted Jewish communities across the world
BBC News - Four arrested as part of counter terror investigation relating to Iran

They say:
- the government must not weaken copyright law, and should instead strengthen licensing, transparency & enforcement
- the government should stop prioritising large multinational tech firms

Bronze statue (Ashmolean Museum)
A bronze statuette of a Hindu saint, acquired by the Ashmolean in 1967, has been returned to a temple in Tamil Nadu. The Ashmolean had been alerted to doubts around its provenance in 2019 and voluntarily approached Indian authorities for an investigation.

A 12-year old cyclist is in hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Sandy Lane West, between Blackbird Leys and Littlemore. Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage of the collision, which involved a red car yesterday around 3.25pm.
What we see here is Donald Trump, acting as he always does, as a global chaos generator.
The further we stand away from that, the better off we will be.
Well said @georgemonbiot.bsky.social π

There is absolutely zero explanation for hitting targets like this unless your objective is to destroy any possibility of normal life and produce mass civilian death. Completely unjustifiable and another war crime. We saw this thirty years ago in Iraq.
Article screenshot: Others are drowning, attempting sustained thought in environments engineered to prevent it. They sit with laptops open, seven tabs competing for attention, notifications sliding in from three different apps, phones vibrating every few minutes. Theyβre trying to read serious material while fighting a losing battle against behavioural psychology weaponised at scale. They believe their inability to focus is a personal failure rather than a design problem. They donβt realise theyβre trying to think in a space optimised to prevent thinking.
I have worried about what I've seen as my own decreased ability to focus but this article has really shifted my thinking. It's so so interesting. aeon.co/essays/what-...
WAR CRIME BY THE US.
An unarmed Iranian ship was takIng part in an Indian naval exercise, alongside the US.
The US withdrew and torpedoed the Iranian ship.
THEN the US refused to rescue the sailors, letting them drown.
This is treachery, cowardice, cruelty and a war crime of the highest order.
Think the Univ already use Oracle, the AI is just a bonus for him if so
From this weekβs Totally Normal Humans! Cut it out and send to someone you like (in a totally normal way).
This is excellent. Give yourself a 15 minute break from whatever you're doing, and read it. Cis and trans alike.
(In case you're wondering, most of the people in the linked image below are trans. But not all).
"Handing out editing awards when you can't edit" is classic.
That aside, this summarises my view. BAFTA and the BBC should have all the heat from this incident.
That was proper funny as well as right on the nose - thanks!
jeez! I do feel for you.
