As a Labour candidate in May, I think Andy is spot on. We have to offer hope, through a series of measures, and at the same time, be ruthlessly focused on the messages about Labour has already done in relation to cost of living.
#Trump: we know already heβs no Biden or Obama.
Nor is he a Bush Jr, Clinton, Bush Sr, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Truman, FD Roosevelt or Hoover. Nor is he the 30 other previous presidents.
He is a convicted felon, narcissist and an alleged rapist and pedophile.
βDefensiveβ is doing some heavy lifting here.
Awaiting verification.
Absolutely, on the Farage point.
Itβs complex, but i would say Tom is looking a little complacent with his assessment. This wasnβt a protest vote for The Greens, nor was it tactical voting. They gained 4,000 more votes than Labour (full disclaimer: my party). Our vote collapsed by 25+%. Thereβs was up 25+%.
I like Tom, but heβs wrong on this.
I have huge respect for Prime Minister @mark-carney.bsky.social, but I am disappointed that he is endorsing Americaβs illegal and dangerous war on #Iran.
CNN reporting that the strikes on Iran tonight are joint US and Israeli strikes.
Which means Donald Trump should be impeached for a third time.
What he has done tonight is illegal under the US constitution and the UN charter.
Kemi. Repeat x 100:
βThis was not our worst by-election defeat, ever.β
when broadcasters repeat Mandelson claim he was βnot motivated by financial gainβ
please also report the $75,000 of financial gain Mandelson received from Epstein in 2004 and 2004
and the Β£10s of thousands Mandelsonβs husband received from Epstein in 2009/10
plus free flights & mansion stays
there's a nugget here which helps to explain Brown's character and why he was so incensed by the allegations against Mandelson from their time in office
Very powerful thread.
#BlueSky or #Threads?
Itβs my sincere hope that both justice and democracy prevail in the US.
It seems odd, viewing it all from afar (in the UK), that there has been no other legal challenge to the president and those in his administration, either based on his capacity or alleged illegal actions.
I think this is the problem. I doubt he was advised by anyone credible within the administration. Itβs all on a whim. As it turns out, an illegal whim.
I happen to believe he was also rather good while in office. Vastly underrated and unappreciated.
It will forever haunt him, and more seriously, his eldest brother.
William will be the last king.
From someone previously involved in βplacemakingβ, I strongly agree. It really does make a difference. Where it gets sticky, is when major £££ infrastructure projects get underway, and people tend to moan about the disruption (especially over on FB). Though arguably they bring the greater benefit.
Keep scrutinising him, Jim. Itβll all start to unravel.
I love my #Corrie, but I wasnβt at all keen on that dramatic technique in tonightβs episode. Itβs Weatherfield, not Hollywood!
Also. Iβm in a state of horrific anticipation of Ed Davey doing THAT TikTok dance.
Yup.
We need #Leveson 2.
#LordOfTheFlies adaptation on BBC One is going to be brilliant.
I donβt follow the logic of that, Robin.
Not a role for a job share.
