We had a nice getaway Monday to Lake County. I played the Blue Wing with Greg Rahn, Randy Hayes and Frank Costa. Miho came along and we stayed at the Tallman Hotel.

My friend Batya just reminded me of this concert from when I was 19. We were studying composition with Yusef Lateef at the time and he surprised me by calling me to play bass with him. Not only was it a huge honor, but until last NYE it was the most if been paid for a single gig.

Stop by Bird tomorrow (Friday 28th) 8:30-10pm and hear us play this song “Deep Breath” I wrote it 15 years ago and almost never perform it because it requires a certain dedication to preparation from all band members. But we got it and it’s gonna rock.

My blood is boiling after watching the Fetterman presser. He responds to dems angry with his vote with juveline mock crying and then accuses dems of “going to a knife fight with a casserole” which confuses me because I believe that’s exactly what HE did. Am I wrong?

I’m studying one of my favorite bassists, Dominique DiPiazza and learning some nice chordal passages.
My new friend Al did a band drawing of us tonight in Aberdeen South Dakota. And she managed to account for my headless bass!
Off to Aberdeen South Dakota for a gig with Charged Particles. First time flying with the Swan bass. It’s small enough to fit in a guitar case so I don’t anticipate a problem getting it on board.
