I was 100% unaware the theme song for The Shoe People was in my head until I saw that image.
It’s a shame there’s no such thing as pop-up arcade machines, especially with your arena mode. That’d get some attention!
And hang in there, it can take a while for emotions to normalise after a big life change. It does get better. Pesky emotions.
A sad story in two email summaries. Goodbye Xbox Live 😢
Yeah, I can’t help but think that BMX Simulator review missed the mark. It was a great game to play with friends, and not much like it at the time. We probably played Grand Prix sim more in the end though.
So happy to see this!
Summer of laziness? That’ll cost you 326 apples, pal.

Original Turrican all the way.
Has nobody used the phrase “The Andrew formerly known as Prince” yet? Good work.
I’m not sure how, but I bought my Coupé with money from a paper round and a market job. £20 a week tops. It was another year before I got a disk drive 😅 Flash took sooooo long to load from tape, it’s no wonder I spent all my time drawing in it. Thanks for the link, props for keeping the dream alive!
Thanks for sharing! I loved my Sam Coupé. Reading the review and comments from the software houses took me right back to 1990. Good times.
They made a lovely ‘corporate gift’ Xmas surprise too, so hopefully the love will be shared even further.
This sounds very similar to the “Two beers and a puppy” rule. An easy to understand but deceptively powerful filter.
Um, this is more of an ‘action shot’ that a well choreographed publicity shot!
Imagine employing Major Nelson and then deciding to not employ Major Nelson! Your podcasts kept me company on long drives in the early years, you made us all feel part of the gang.
I started my Turrican journey on the Spectrum and ended it on the SNES via C64 and Amiga. This cart is very exciting!
I was totally mesmerised by Lemmings. I’d been doing Basic stuff on a BBC in a GCSE lesson. The teacher waved me to the server room. He had Lemmings running on the school’s first Archimedes and colour monitor. There was so much life bursting from those little fellas, I must have stared for hours. ❤️
Taito. I love me some Bub and Bob. That game just has so much to give.
Your Sinclair. It taught me you can love something AND take the piss out of it. That oddballs CAN find their tribe. That subversion is an art form. And, did it not somehow become a classic games magazine in its own lifetime?
Mutant Storm and MS Reloaded were both great. Simple enough to really hone skill but still endlessly repayable. All the games by Radian were solid and so inventive too.

😀
Very excited for this one. I was bewitched by The NewZealand Story from the very first moment I saw it.
Awesome! I’d better get some practice in before Blackpool then 😅
Ooooh! Did not know about Snake mode. This is looking better and better. I had fun with it in Blackpool last year, but it also made me feel a bit old and slow🤦🏻♂️ I’m loving the deep reflections.
Yes, but don’t lower yourself to his level. ❤️

Get cart. Insert cart. Play! That's all it takes to get up and running with Evercade. No complicated setting up, no browsing conflicting advice online to find the "best" OS... and a huge library of officially licensed games from five decades of gaming history, ready to play, right now!
It’s hard not to love Donut Dodo and Murtop. Would be nice to see Cash Cow DX too.
I spent a TON of time playing Prince of Persia and Pipe Mania on my Coupé. And even more time noodling with graphics in Flash. Good times. Looking forward to seeing Sam again.
Awesome news, well done! Be gentle though, don’t stretch yourselves too far - we’re already very lucky to have what we do.
