That means so much!
Thanks so much, Daisy! 🌷
Thank you, Marianna! 💛
Thank you Alex 💛
I have such fond memories of being in London together in 2024!
it sure is a choice to look at a political landscape in which the government is actively attempting to erase trans people from existence and publish a Singal victory lap in furtherance of that goal
I loved Ia Genberg's The Details so I'm happy to see Small Comfort, a collection of linked short stories from @headlinebooks.bsky.social, on the #InternationalBooker2026 list - but frustrated that I have to wait another month to read it :(
Congratulations to translator @kirajosefsson.bsky.social
Thanks so much, Jo! It's a really special one––can't wait for you to read it 🌷
It's a longlist full of authors and translators I admire: thebookerprizes.com/the-booker-l...
Feeling like the world's luckiest translator to be working with Ia again, and to be read so generously by the judges, who really get the book: "Breathtakingly original, profound but with a delicious dose of irreverence" thebookerprizes.com/the-booker-l...
Out in UK in mid-March, US this summer!

Journalistikens roll när någon säger att det regnar är inte att rapportera det som en sanning, utan att titta ut genom fönstret för att se om det verkligen regnar. Även utrikesjournalistiken måste leva upp till den standarden.

Protest sign on Route 4 in Paramus, New Jersey reads “ICE murders woman in MN”
I wouldn't personally give them my labor as part of donor-conceived, redundant surveys, for instance, but funding is scarce, they've got money to give, and after significant pressure they did actually start listening to their constituents, not just saying they did, and that should be celebrated
Though there are people in the org who do great work, PEN America remains a big nonprofit with all the usual nonprofit tendencies, and there are lots of issues this boycott didn't tackle (translators can refer to lareviewofbooks.org/article/bran... for instance).
I'm really proud to have helped organize this in the first year alongside a bunch of translator friends and other comrades who were likewise nominated for prizes. Collective action works!

BODY DOUBLE is on LitHub's most anticipated list! "Okay Persona… okay Ingmar Bergman… okay Scandinavian literature about lesbians who start turning into each other…. a strange, twisty story about obsession and identity and how easy it can be to lose yourself completely" lithub.com/lit-hubs-mos...

zohran quoting and then rejecting "the era of big government is over," the line that captured the zenith of clintonian neoliberalism, is highly symbolic
"not simply about the costs we make free, but the lives we fill with freedom" this is ittttttt there is no freedom without equality and the right should not have a monopoly on that word
