Yep. The only times I’ve ever felt confused about my gender only happened bc my family mocked me for not living up to the ideal of masculinity which they assumed was the default. If they’d let me just grow and mature I would’ve ended up not that far from what they wanted on my own anyway 😭

Now, I have lots of make friendships and I enjoy being one of the guys. I didn’t turn out to be particularly effeminate because that’s just not the way I prefer to present myself. I will never buy that trans people existing can ever gaslight someone into thinking they’re trans when they aren’t.

As a young lad my masculinity/lack thereof was constantly mocked and belittled by my family. I was constantly told I needed to “man up” and “act more like a man”. I also enjoyed spending time with girls more than boys. Since I’m not trans, none of that actually made me not want to be a man.

Texas AG Ken Paxton has declared that it is illegal for mental health providers and therapists to treat trans youth. It means that trans youth will be denied access to any mental healthcare that isn't conversion therapy. Paxton also threatens parents of trans youth with child abuse investigations.
