The precedent would still be set which would empower cases against any AI company that trained on copyright work
I completely understand the jadedness (especially after recent years). I just think if Disney had their own AI goals, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot with this lawsuit
If Disney wins then it would set a precedent that training AI on copyright materials is copyright infringement. Disney couldn't then make their own models on others' work.
They could train on work they own, but even Disney doesn't own enough to make a model that's as good as current ones.
