We are ready to see you tomorrow at #SfN25 at the #ArtofNeuroscience exhibit!
Meet the crew: Danny, @isabel-luna.bsky.social, Tera, @ellieho21.bsky.social and me!!
We have lots of new stuff for you this year!
Researchers with lived experience of mental illness/SUDs bring vital insight to our field, yet remain underrepresented and face barriers to participation & leadership
This Perspective calls for removing such barriers & proposes reforms to build inclusive environments

For all the people who think scientists are getting fat off of federal grants, I would just like to mention that yesterday, at the spry age of 52, I bought the first new car I have ever bought in my life. I don't mean to brag or anything, but it's a 2026 base model Corolla.
Where did you get all the different human brain models? I would love to print something similar for my university's outreach events.
hand holidng a pink 3d printed brain with MRI brain scan images in the background
Love this! I printed my own brain and I think it might be the exact same filament color ππ§
made a mini-game for events: find pairs of matching brains, the Allen mouse brain & a macaque brain are smuggled in to make it easier. meanwhile, we can talk about brain structure, cortical folding, twins, individual differences, & etc. πππ§
I should be in study section right now talking about cool science but itβs cancelled due to the government shutdown. It sucks as a reviewer, but it sucks more for all the applicants who worked so hard on their grants- spending long hours crafting ideas. Relying on this to keep their labs going. 1/
Iβm hiring at all levels and accepting graduate students through Psychology and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience. Reach out if youβre interested in joining a collaborative, fun, creative, and supportive team in beautiful Vancouver! ποΈ β·οΈ ποΈ π

My department at Emory is a hiring a tenure-track neuroscientist!
Anyone who's talked to me in the last 4 years knows I cannot say enough good things about my dept and the neuroscience community here. My colleagues are so wonderfully supportive. Postdocs, please apply!

ALBA-Elsevier Award for Neuroscience - @network-alba.bsky.social
Every faculty job solicitation in the biomedical sciences should come with a link to a robust University policy on dealing with current and anticipated future NIH / NSF etc funding issues. Including removal of any hint of a major award being required for tenure.
Our current NIH director complaining about carrying papers in 2020.
The supreme court just said it's ok for ICE to ask for your papers.
Ishaan and Violet are science superstars π€© I was so impressed with them all summer! I look forward to hearing about all the wonderful things they will accomplish in the future.

During my postdoc at #NIEHS, I had the opportunity to learn spatial transcriptomics using the @10xgenomics.bsky.social Visium platform. It's wild how much spatial tech has progressed since we first ran these experiments in 2023!
Understanding how MR makes CA2 weird...using spatial transcriptomics! π§ 𧬠Huge thank you to Serena and Basak for getting this across the finish line - I'm so happy this work is published! #keepCA2weird

When invited to review a manuscript, I decline. Then I am asked why I am declining. Seems like personal information and I need to add this meme.
