I think the Pelicans have a *positioning* issue at the root of it. Some of it is coaching, some proprioception, some effort. But guys are rarely creating effective formations & are constantly out of alignment
AD is *constantly* yelling abt guys being out of position. How often are they in position?

Pels really snatched defeat from the jaws of victory even though the Suns were opening that mouth WIDE

That's the real reason the Karlo & Yves minutes pop imo. They both have above average feet, but lack the secondary skills to be indepently effective even with their relatively good feet.

I agree with you. I think the guys all have high dexterity skills (touch, deflections, shooting, steals). I think the issue you're highlighting is due to poor feet & low proprioception. Bryce has the best feet on the team? Maybe Herb? Seems like they're always *just* missing it, or *just* off.

The funny thing is that I think the hands of the guys on the Pels are all their premier trait lol. But maybe we mean different things by hands or you're seeing something I don't

Never play for the foul. Play through the foul & get the extra points. When you play for the foul, you start to make bad decisions with the hope someone else bails you out lmao

I actually don't think he has many lapses on D, I think he's extremely focused on that end (I could be wrong). I think he's *extremely* raw & needs some time + instruction to change his approach towards blocks & physicality & he'll be a spectacular bench big. He's kind of the ideal modern bench big.

Agreed. Karlo is kind of a bite sized prime DeAndre Jordan. But they don't have enough guys who can replicate what he does.

these moments of "lucidity" are interesting bc the pels show exactly why the rest of their portfolio is disappointing, we see what they're capable of for minutes at a time. infuriating.

Since January 1st, The Pelicans have 2-3 minute spells where they look like a playoff teamβ¦
β¦and they have 2-3 minute spells where they play as though theyβll get 70 losses.

the suns have no power adjustment on the floor. pels should play with force & make them aware of that. saddiq isn't the only generationally strong player.

Pelicans assistant coach, Jordan McGuire cited the Pelicans "true shots" in the halftime interview with Andrew Lopez and I absolutely love that.
Needs to be a more commonly available stat and talking point
