The things y'all credit them with being right about, leftists were right about first. But now y'all crave the empire that worked silently oppressing instead of announcing it on social media and affecting your personal budget.

I wonder what percentage of people who think they are funny are actually just mean but insulated from consequences of their mean jokes because they have social power.
If people are laughing just to avoid being the next target, thatβs not a valid laugh.
To my Canadian friends, an acquaintance started a petition to allow US transgender citizens to claim refugee status here.

You didn't "fail" to make an unworkable situation work. It was not on you to make the unworkable work. You should not have been put in the position of believing that it was your job to make the unworkable work. You don't deserve to be punished for the unworkable not working.
Hereβs the thing about folks speedrunning the creative process with AI:
I could go to the beach every morning and put a grain of sand in a cup. Theyβd take their cup to the beach and fill it one day; but the point isnβt to have a cup of sand. Itβs to fill my life with a thousand trips to the beach.
The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Adding in that the exploitation from the system for that promise of "join up and leave poverty" is why Native Americans and trans people are 1 and 2 for "highest % of population having served".
Yesterday I dumped some bookings for an upcoming trip into Claude and asked for an itinerary. I panicked when I saw a flight was a day later than I planned. But it wasn't. Claude just doesn't know how days of week work.
This is the tool the Pentagon wants to deploy to autonomous killing machines.
I think I strive for neutrality more than positivity, even as an ideal. Like, I take pretty good care of the stuff that is my responsibility to care for, it doesnβt really need a βchargeβ to be worth respectingβ¦ but thatβs what personally works for me
If our taxes have to pay for something, Iβm proud that theyβre paying for our government to battle our government
given how reactive so many chemicals are with one another, and how many molecules make up organic material, itβs kind of amazing that you can just eat food, drink beverages, etc., without just bursting into flames
I love trying to sleep at night because all of a sudden my brain will be like, βhmm yeah get comfortable bc hereβs the most graphic way to visualize what it would be like for you to be a subject of brain surgery while awakeβ

Without downloading any new pictures, where are you mentally?
this seems to me like a basic tenet of not being unpleasant to be around for anyone who is not your literal clone
yeah it baffles me as well. am I not here to learn? also stuff like, my friend was just diagnosed with a disease so in order to be able to understand what theyβre telling me about it, I also read about it elsewhere. so that I donβt make her miserable having to tell me basic shit repeatedly
Neurodivergent brains are more like cornstarch slurry (βgakβ). If youβre pushing them with a lot of pressure they stiffen up & crack. Conversely if you can just let go & create a usable space for them, they can be very effective at achieving the same thing
Think of your brain as a literal material. If youβre not operating with disabling neurodivergence, itβs like clay. Might be hard to work with under certain conditions but generally speaking you can make it do kind of the thing you want it to do
Thinking about how certain types of tics work has kind of opened up how I think about other forms of neurodivergence as well. Iβm going to be annoying & use a metaphor & speak really, really broadly
yeah I just meant because customers who are jonesing for something are always at least a little more irritated or unhappy. like morning coffee shop shifts suck imo, but evening coffee shop shifts are nice
of course if you were going to build a business to own yourself, the first one probably has a much more stable income stream. anyway this is why I want to do fragrance copywriting so bad
the worst retail jobs are ones where you sell people an addictive substance that theyβre out of, imo. the best ones are the ones where you sell people a special treat that they donβt usually get.
fuck that cannibal
The Forer Effect is a famous example of cold reading, it along with the Eliza Effect is why people get fooled by generative AI.
It is *shockingly* hard to get people to notice that word salad they agree with, is literally meaningless.

"We should learn to speak in a language that rich people who don't dream can't comprehend" goes so fucking hard holy shit
