If you haven't read my latest piece yet, yes I believe the BP race is tighter than some do; and as far as I'm concerned both movies are destined to become the films that defined 2025 in cinema - which doesn't happen with Oscar every year.

Via @ordinarytimes.bsky.social, I wrote about the historic Best Picture showdown that is taking place, the case for both films' win chances, and why film fans should cherish this rare situation of two masterpieces fighting for the top prize in a close race:

From @mendezmovierpt.bsky.social "Itβs a race between 2 films deeply embedded in current political & cultural moment w/one taking direct aim at MAGA-era politics & interrogating the pitfalls of revolutionary fervor, the other confronting racism & forced assimilation head-on"
What? LOL
Crockett literally said Latinos have a slave mentality. Its no surprise she lost that vote by huge margins after that. She's the one who decided to basically tell them she didn't need their votes.
I mean...no. And even if it wasn't you don't run a campaign that says straight up that it doesn't care about switching swing voters who backed Trump in a state he won by 9, 5, and 13 respectively.
Looking like Texas Dems are going with the more electable Senate candidate, good on them. Even if Talrico loses, he hopefully keeps things close enough for the competitive house races.
I like Crockett better as a backbencher who swipes at Rs. Horrible campaigner for a red state.
I know the R replacing him is probably even worse, but Dan Crenshaw losing a primary after not standing up to Trump enough is legit funny to me. Good riddance.

Yeah, this is like that one right winger claiming COVID won't be a big deal levels of you need to shut up forever because you add no value to the conversation.
LMAO
*claps sarcastically*
Great job voters. Great job. You really bought that whole "he's anti-war and prizes will go down overnight" bullshit.
The "greatest country in the world" ran by the dumbest mother fuckers around, the American voter.
First full day of being a Dad
Can confirm my daughter's first ever music to hear since birth is the Godzilla theme
Holy shit. I'm a Dad.
Update: Wife finally gave up and got an epidural, and meanwhile I just discovered the false vacuum decay theory while scrolling some cosmology stuff, and thus am triying to get my mind to stop freaking out

Baby Shower Day
What's happening in Minnesota is much bigger than our silly awards season stuff, but its not a coincidence why the Best Picture race is down to the two movies that it is.
Looking forward to all the "patriotic" bullshit we're gonna have shoved down our throats for this America 250 crap. "The greatest country in the world" doesn't do this to its citizens.
ICE killed someone else. This is fucking terrifying. The government is waging a full scale war against its own citizens and excusing murder. We live in scary times and the media is under-reporting how serious this has become. Dem leaders are still resorting to strongly worded letters.
