I've switched my Windows laptop to @cachyos.org (or: Arch with a graphical installer). It just works out of the box, and does so while using a fraction of the resources of a fresh Windows 11 install.
So far I see no reason whatsoever to go back to Windows.

The plan is to give Linux a long-term test as main OS, and possibly switch on a permanent basis.
By the way: This isn't my first rodeo with Linux on the desktop. I've used it in the late 1990s, annoyed by Windows 98 at the time.
Why CachyOS? I read good things about it, and I'm too lazy to install @archlinux.org.web.brid.gy from scratch.
I'm not yet missing any applications. As far as games go: I've tested Minecraft and @hytale.bsky.social, both of which run better than on Windows. Less background bloat helps, I guess.
I've done it: I switched my laptop from Windows 11 to Linux. @cachyos.org in particular.
Hardware I'm running this on: Dell XPS 15 (2023). Intel i9 13900-H, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA 4070
So far I'm impressed. Everything runs smoothly while using a lot fewer resources than Win11 (fresh install, too).
