I am *obsessed* with this drag Jesus and I really need folks to bid on it cos I can't, as much as I desperately want to.

I should say, I'm on "Clouds of Witness" in my reread, and oh my gosh, there's just so much I missed when reading it these as a youth.

So now I have on hold "Conundrums for the Long Week-End: England, Dorothy L. Sayers, and Lord Peter Wimsey" for a little light adjacent reading.

I had a birthday recently, and this year I got all the Dorothy Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey books as my gift to myself.

But because I don't like the modern editions, since January I've been scouting out older mass market paperbacks of them.

Last week the last one arrived!

I love that book. The movie was, well, not the book. A Ken Burns version would be fascinating!

i think enthusiastic LLM use is mostly a stack of cognitive biases, unacknowledged plagiarism, and unmet needs in a trenchcoat

but also my main objections aren't about them being bad at tasks so i don't care if you think they've gotten better at it

β€œAt the end of the day, she didn’t sound any better than some of these ultra-conservative people who were demeaning Black and Brown folk on a regular basis,” said Rev. Rodney Sadler, a Bible scholar and longtime community activist in Charlotte. β€œIt felt like a betrayal of the utmost.”

this guy challenged a sitting Democratic lawmaker in yesterday's primary, angered by her pro-ICE vote, and he ousted her 70% to 22%.

Anyone know somewhere local (Chicago) that takes and distributes donations for medical devices? I still have the knee braces from surgery last year just collecting dust in my closet... These damn things cost several hundred dollars each, someone could surely use them more than me

An article claiming US troops were told the Iran War is meant "to cause Armageddon" and usher in a return of Jesus Christ made waves on Bluesky yesterday. We saw at least 2,250 posts that repeated its core claims.

The story could be legit, but this article raises some reasons to be skeptical.
