I've never played any of the others! I picked it up at a formative age because I liked the art style a lot and I think certain design sensibilities have stuck around in my own work to this day! Some really weird and punishing game mechanics, for sure.

I just did the exact same thing: read all the earthsea books and then watched the ghibli mpvie for the first time...somehow it made the experience even worse, knowing what they decided to show and ignore 🙃 Good luck!
