After an hour in closed session RPS SB motions to appoint Anne Holton to 6th district rep. Jafari has concerns about outside influence of non board members and moves to rescind all involvement. His motion can’t be voted on while there is a motion on the floor. 🛋️

RPS announced the candidates who have applied to replace Dr Shonda Harris-Muhammad’s vacant 6th district School Board seat. All star list of choices in my opinion. 🛋️

Meeting schedule remains the same for 2026. First Monday and Tuesday of the month at 6pm in School Board Chambers of City Hall. 🛋️

Chang as agent, Parks as deputy agent. Clerks also appointed. Motions approved. 🛋️

All schools/principals DO get a budget for their individual school. So I can only posit a guess that they mean start the big district budget from the schools and work up from there??? 🛋️

Chris Hollis LiUNA Rep for transportation workers attended meetings to come up with new agreement perplexed with what was wrong with old agreement. Gutting an agreement that is for the workers is unprecedented. 🛋️

Dr Emily Yen consultant at Teamsters 322 RPS made history being 1st district having CBA. Spanberger wants to make progress and will sign bill to expand CB rights vetoed by Youngkin last year. 🛋️

‪Quinton Robbins teamsters 322 organizer had hope last week after election - asking SB to stand on side of democracy. Fear they are pitting teachers against students. Teachers and students interests are one and the same. Disagrees with Kamras. Not pro worker or pro student 🛋️‬

Sofia Barberi REA member and teacher last month SB delayed vote due to lack of collaboration but collaboration did not happen. Urges no vote 🛋️

Lisa de la Oh REA member and teacher urges no vote. Union leadership has had to stretch themselves to attend last minute meetings. Priority is school based budget. 🛋️
