π Afterward, they collected certificates signifying they had mastered βthe noble arts of polite conversation, graceful composure, and the increasingly rare practice of genuine human engagement.β Then...[got] back to work in an industry on track to make human engagement even scarcer. wapo.st/3XIxwOF
It seems ON is pulling the ad (thankfully not til after Game 1 of the World Series) π‘π€¬. I'm so tried of the tantrums from the current US admin that cross our border and affect our citizens & our workers. So childish.
Once again, +1 to Doug Ford and his administration. Ballsy. #ElbowsUp
Today's Life Lesson: when your beloved wife is out of town, maybe don't read a novel about the Titanic where, not one, but TWO women each lose the love of their lives. #ProMarriageTip
Good luck to the @torontobluejays.bsky.social! I remember 1993, watched every inning. And I remember the Coca-Cola ads that ran during the Series, culminating in this one - the night the Jays won it all. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iKA... Ahh, the intricate relationship between memory & advertising :)
So very excited about Gander Social π¨π¦! I watched the preview of their app - they're incorporating bias and fact-checking tags on links - so important! Keep up the good work @gandersocial.bsky.social - can't wait for the Beta!!
Proud to be Canadian today!!

@mark-carney.bsky.social and the Canadian government need to do the same.
I'm so happy that artists are creating cool works like this, especially in these uncertain and dark times. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
I love that our national Internet registration authority @cira.ca has an article telling Canadians how to protect our phones when crossing the US border. #ElbowsUpCanada www.cira.ca/en/resources...

Am I the only one who thought @rosie.com was ADORABLE in #AJLT's premiere last night? And that Miranda was kind of a jerk, especially about her being (heaven forbid) a tourist from Canada? More Mary the Virgin please!
This was a super interesting read! (thank you @simonwillison.net)! Love diving into how these agents think. Really wish openAI would publish their system prompt.
Love this account!
Tariff-fuelled inflation is different: It causes prices to rise, but there's no reason to expect wage rises to follow. The result is an enduring cut in your real wages and purchasing power.
BC is getting a new area code this weekend - 257. Get ready for a whole new slate of spam numbers. Woohoo!
B.C. Health Minister Josie Osborne called the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services initiative targeting clinicians supporting gender-affirming services βreprehensible.β
Was feeling a bit overwhelmed today and this delightful issue of AJ's newsletter popped up in my email. Seems like a good way to track and even manage some of those negative emotions. Side note: AJ is an awesome writer - his book "The Know-It All" is one of my absolute faves!
Interesting analysis of fashion at the Met Gala (past and present).
Without popular support for separation, she has seriously limited options. But Moscrop is exactly right: this is live ammo-stuff now, the way Brexit was, the way Trump as a candidate was. She is reckless, and part of a political movement of delusion and dishonesty. Very dangerous

I found this article a great place to start on my journey to combatting disinformation. I'm worried that this election is going to create an even greater divide where we'll no longer know how to talk to each other, especially when we don't trust each others sources.

The Canadian election is close. There is a large portion of Canadians who voted one way and are feeling very disappointed right now.
STOP dehumanizing those we disagree with. There is NEVER a time that it is appropriate to be that way.
Canadians bleed red and blue.

the year is 2247. the nation of Canada has weathered centuries of triumph and hardship. every aspect of Canadian life is unrecognizable compared to life in the early 21st century. Elizabeth May has just been reelected in the SaanichβGulf Islands riding for the 97th time.
Posting this in anticipation of rigged and stolen election claims. I recommend posting this in the replies of those promoting stolen election disinformation. The Elections Canada site is also a good reference. #canpoli #cdnpoli

I don't think it can be understated that it feels like the entire globe is watching Canada tonight. Reuters, Aljazeera, and BBC all have live feeds happening and its their top story on the home page.
This does not feel normal and given the current global landscape, it's both ominous and humbling.
