A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

Remaining politically unbiased requires staying neutral on matters like evidence, relevant past behavior, clear patterns, obvious lies, and observable truth, which is worth remembering whenever somebody starts complaining about political bias.

Aggrieved, as ever, to be living in Andy Fillmore’s Halifax. Especially when Waye Mason’s Halifax was *right* *there*.

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.

95% of authors are not making a living through book publishing. The public needs to understand this.

Carney says Canada should prepare for ‘sacrifices’ as he outlines plan for budget | CBC News Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canadians should be ready for some “challenges” and “sacrifices” in a speech outlining some of his government’s priorities for the upcoming budget.

Those of us struggling to pay bills hear Carney’s talk of “sacrifices” with fury.
WHAT IS GALEN WESTON SACRIFICING?
WHAT IS DAVID THOMSON SACRIFICING?
WHAT IS EDWARD ROGERS SACRIFICING?
WHAT IS CHIP WILSON SACRIFICING?

That’s the other thing that baffles me about AI and creative writing, actually.

The work IS the joy for me. I don’t want to be able to snap my fingers and have a completed “product.” I want to be transformed by the process. I’m an author but I do this because I enjoy the rigor of being a writer.

"Haligonians are rightfully frustrated about traffic congestion. But the premier’s promise has pushed another 10,000 cars onto the roads, clogging up your commute. These 10,000 trips are trips that the drivers were previously not willing to pay a single dollar to make"

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

Also, maybe regional council should have taken residents concerns more seriously before throwing $50,000 at this event, which will have negligible benefits for tourism, and helps sportswash a genocide.

Screaming into the void, but here goes: Growing inequality of wealth is destroying living standards and changing the job landscape for young people. Not immigrants, not temporary foreign workers.

I think all companies should be worker-owned and run.

The employees should vote every year or two for a new CEO, and candidates should include anyone who's worked at the company for at least three years.

The CEO should be the person with a plan to keep the company profitable, ethical and humane.

🚨 Israel has just killed five more journalists in Gaza. 🚨

We call on Canada, a founding member of the Media Freedom Coalition, to fulfill its obligations under international law. The only way is a full two way arms embargo and sanctions against Israel now
