I mean i always understood the FREEDOM Park bit to be Cuban American-ese for "we hate the Commie Cuban regime" so in that sense being the backdrop for Trump threatening Bay of Pigs round 2 is exactly what they stand for.

100%. No one else is able or willing to engage with this in a serious way.
Yes, I can read the part where you replied too a completely different American "Y'all just too lazy, privileged and incurious to do the hard work". If resistance was as easy as you make it sound people all over the world would not be living under various authoritarian thumbs. Be somewhat humble.
Making these types of sweeping generalizations from the comfort of Canada is lazy and a bit cruel if I'm being honest. Have you not kept up with the shift that the people of Minnesota have been putting in against overwhelming government power?
That is the point of agreement that the MAHA influencer types tend to use to pull lefties into their particular algorithm. Then before you know it youβre deluged with anti-vax propaganda and everything else.
The fact that she was willing to go on the record on the topic indicates that they know they need to do some damage control but this is a pretty feeble attempt.
Comparing the places Iβve lived recently (Minnesota and BC), the state of the roads, public parks, and other public spaces is decidedly better in Canada. In the US you can certainly find nice stuff by going to a wealthy area but the average experience can be quite bleak.
I would say when it comes to the delivery of public services, education, or public infrastructure the decay in the US is absolutely felt on the ground. Obviously a lot of local variation, but I think the US is worse of average than Canada or other comps even though it is considerably wealthier.
The interesting thing about it is that the polling would have you believe that immigrant communities are the one part of the electorate that the Carney Liberals are still underperforming with. Now CPC just going to throw that on the bonfire.
Hockey media are always very reticent to touch anything remotely political but it will be malpractice to avoid covering the generational fumble of good will committed by the US men in that locker room. The sport fights so hard for attention in the US and now this is how it gets it. Beyond pathetic.
Yeah just strikes me that of all the reasons you could dump on the Rapids this seems really low on the list and very superficial.
Is there a practical reason this is bad or is it just because the cool kids donβt do it? Why maintain two sets of locker rooms if your training ground is in the same complex as your stadium?
*swing coming
Fair enough. Did you feel a 28 point swinging last year though?
Agree to disagree. Althia Raj mentioned on At Issue this week that one current NDP member is considering floor crossing to the Liberals, the others sitting as independents if Lewis becomes the leader. They are in free fall right now.
Letβs put it this way, the riding went from +36 NDP to +8 NDP from 2021 to 2025. You really think itβs out of the realm of possibility they drop another 4 to the Liberals?
Yeah Iβm not alleging a Conservative party can pick it up, but the Liberals might. The soft NDP vote is currently realigning to the Liberals and the CPC are eating into trad working class vote. Nothing guarantees the federal NDP survive the next couple years. Avi Lewis will divide the base.
The Liberals were within eight points last year. With the NDP currently circling the drain through an incredibly lackluster leadership race I really wouldnβt rule the possibility out.
Brutal
Uhhh wutπ΅βπ«
If itβs MLSβs responsibility to produce all this stuff then itβs on them. Apple isnβt going to promote shoulder programming that doesnβt exist.
Isnβt MLS responsible for producing and paying for all this shoulder programming just like they are with the game production? Seems like they are being as cheap as possible to maintain margin of the rights deal.
His personality reads more flaky winger than goalkeeper. Ronaldo is his favorite player, but Ashley didnβt seem to register that red flag.
Itβs good to have high standardsβ¦but also some perspective.
Youβd never know this based on how much Canadians will complain about things like this, but accessing virtually any government service is easier in Canada than the US.
Getting your documents together in the US is way more of a hassle. In Canada itβs pretty easy to get a new passport at Service Canada, but there is no equivalent in the US. Itβs all done through state or county governments who might be a party to voter suppression efforts.
Which owner would they not want to work for?
From which league are other clubs the best to deal with, which are the worst?
Trump doing his best to crash the USD so maybe that gap will fadeπ€
Yeah I donβt think itβs a very honest argument by them. The low ticket prices explain a lot of that gap and Canadian dollar much of the rest.
