ncbi.nlm.nih.gov PMC PubMed Central® J Infect Public Health. 2023 Jul; 16(7): 1037- 1044. Published online 2023 May 10. Title: COz concentration as an indicator of indoor ventilation performance to control airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 Sowoo Parka and Doosam Song
Results In a typical school classroom environment with 20-25 occupants and an exposure time of 6-8 h, the average indoor CO2 concentration should be kept below 700 ppm to control the risk of airborne infection indoors. The ASHRAE recommended ventilation rate is sufficient when wearing a mask in classrooms. For a typical restaurant with 50-100 occupants and an exposure time of 2-3 h, the average indoor COz concentration should be kept below about 900 ppm. Residence time in the restaurant had a significant effect on the acceptable CO, concentration.
To governments: How about using CO2 monitors in classrooms to ensure sufficient fresh air is supplied, to prevent another #Tripledemic this fall?
Study states that average CO2 levels should be below 700 ppm. Since BC schools aren’t masked, how many meet this iAQ target? Prove it!

Here’s why even mildly symptomatic people shouldn’t attend school…they’re exhaling high viral loads for 8 days! Even if vaccinated.
Schools are crowded with poor air quality.
Northwestern University invented a device to measure amounts of SARS2 viral particles breathed out by people.

Just a few weeks into the school year, some USA states are having to cancel classes due to rampant illness. (Proof that “immunity debt” was false and most likely “immunity theft” from COVID is to blame.)
Therefore, BC schools need to employ protections like masks & clean air to avoid the same fate.
Important update: Today's #CleanAir Festival will be postponed to September due to--ironically--the unclean air in Vancouver today due to smoke. We're thinking of all those in BC impacted by the tragic climate-change induced #BCwildfires.

Another BC school year looms w/ not enough protections for students & staff.
@SafeSchoolsBC @Protect_BC & other advocates demand that gov’t act to prevent another disastrous “tripledemic” illness season in #bced schools.
