Yesterday I saw a CEO's AI agent posting on linkedin AS THE AGENT, talking about the CEO's daily productivity schedule in the third person, and have low key been in fight or flight since then

Really following this New Mexico Meta Trial very closely because it's like, what if big tech companies could be shilling products while ignoring evidence that they're bad for people's brains
As someone who's been paid to code *and* to write, I disagree with this take.
IKEA mass-produces chairs but we're not like "carpentry is bullshit". A lot of early career coders were, essentially, apprentices learning foundational info.
Humans doing well takes skill in all domains <3
If only there were a job where you don't really report but you have good writing skills. Sure, you'd have to use the writing skills, which would be annoying!
βIf [wealthy, powerful people] can get us to accept that the futureβs already settled, AI is already here, the end is already here, then we will create that for them. My most daring idea is to refuse.β β @tressiemcphd.bsky.social
I can tell I really liked a novel when I start thinking in its style while I'm reading it and that's why I don't use chatbots
Just feels like they maybe could have named some of the ways you can be "steered very wrong"

Having spent several weeks trying to prevent someone I love from letting Sam Altman's personal preferences dictate their emotional wellbeing, I only assume this hand-wavy op-ed from a self-proclaimed AI sceptic was written specifically to annoy me

As a human being you have the right to be able to understand the world. That is why education is so important.
Any technology that hinders your understanding (even if it seemingly gives you capabilities) is deeply in- and anti-humane.
The answer to problems in sociotechnical systems is not always "more software", "better software" or "open source software".
A lot of the time the best solution is _less software_ and sometimes even _no software_.
I've been in a closet writing and am now reading these posts properly...
I feel like the artificial quotes chaos pulled attention from the fact that dudes who write things like "Your a scientific programming God!" are demanding access to all the code bases

transcript of a NYT podcast ad: This is A.G. Sulzberger. Iβm the publisher of The New York Times. I oversee our news operations and our business. But Iβm also a former reporter who has watched with a lot of alarm as our profession has shrunk and shrunk in recent years. Normally, in these ads, we talk about the importance of subscribing to the Times. Iβm here today with a different message. Iβm encouraging you to support any news organization thatβs dedicated to original reporting. If thatβs your local newspaper, terrific β local newspapers in particular need your support. If thatβs another national newspaper, thatβs great too.

I heard someone from Semafor say that they made a Claude bot that replicates the writing style of one of their colleagues, and now that colleague uses the bot to check that the writing is in *her own* voice.
She made a "rookie mistake", but with OpenClaw, *everybody* is a rookie! There is no non-rookie! It's a fool's errand to pretend there's a safe way to run this shit, and the wild thing is that these people are publicly advertising that they're running this stuff.
I love Vox Pops
This is not good journalism sorry
how can you love free jazz and yet hate bad bunny? <3

If you ever have any doubt about this, try going to a "Mexican" restaurant in London.
Yeah Iβm looking for my dog (girlfriend who has a restraining order against me and she has a dog) and hereβs the picture of the dog (she walks this dog and I can use it to figure out her schedule) thanks for sending all footage my way

This kind of smart, walkable, mixed-use urbanism is illegal to build in most American cities.
I've never felt more like "white americans live in a separate world" than overhearing two people at the superbowl party ask each other who the kid was meant to be and fail to come up with any ideas

Old Super Bowl ads: Look! Big horses! Buy a beer.
New Super Bowl ads: give your soul over to the theft engines or weβll use footage of you to kill your dog.
I am not seeing any reputable news article stating that was Liam Ramos at the Super Bowl but verified accounts with hundreds of thousands of people are spreading the rumor. Come on people.

WE BOUGHT A SUPER BOWL AD
404 Media just had an ad during the #SuperBowl! We Googled "smallest TV markets in the United States" and bought an ad for $2,550 that only ran in Ottumwa, Iowa, population 25,000. That still counts
