That & the war in Ukraine. plus with no legal right to food in the UK, there's a sense of sleepwalking into it. More's needed on the macro-front, talk of increasing 'dig for victory' allotment-style cultivation is all well & good but assumes people have the time & capacity to do that effectively.

You'd think WW2 & post- attention to domestic food production & reports would've done something but, here we are. Larger population, industrial agribusiness, reliance on big player retail sector's just-in-time supply chains, Brexit, job precarity, lack of agri-food sector labour, skills shortages...

Ncuti Gatwa's acclaimed theatre run of beloved classic play is set to stream for free Alongside Gatwa, the play stars Sharon D Clarke, Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́, Eliza Scanlen and Hugh Skinner.

The National Theatre will stream The Importance of Being Earnest starring Ncuti Gatwa for free. The performance from the winter 2024/25 run will be on YouTube from 12 March. A watch-along premiere will be at 7pm GMT, during which viewers will have the opportunity to interact through chat/polls. 👜

Mme's mum was quick to share her memories of the kissing type treating others badly, being forgiven weekly & doing it again. And after she was signed out, there was a daily walk of shame sending her & her Jewish mate out of assembly in front of the whole school.

Mme's best mate was same, aged 5 oft told she was going to roast. Scared the heck out of Mme when she first heard her say that, so much so that she ran home to mum - who had been signed out of the Catholic church in Austria aged 6 when her parents divorced & understood completely.

Yay, Laminariales! Some (very) old memories have stuck😁

We've tried Kipferl's cakes, wines & deli items, they deliver! The cakes are the closest Mme's had in the UK to those her Mutti used to make - and she studied at the Haushaltungsschule der Stadt Wien: Fachschule fur Grosskuchenbetrieb in the '30s. Excellent wines too!
