Remember when I said big news was coming a short while ago? Here it is!|
I took the info from my Co-Author's announcement on FB - she is a gem and she was our frontman for getting contracts signed and all. I was working on the audio files for uploads for the last week.

I have been working on filing and paperwork for the #ProjectAO stuff. My eyes are crossing. But I am proud.

My co-author, the Plotmom of #ProjectAO, posted on Tiktok a rather good set of questions.
What are your answers?

Well thank you! Some people like the bubble map concept for it, but honestly? I like having a linear chart. My eyes can find the heading and go immediately to where I need to.
#ProjectAO has big news coming. I can't say what it is yet. But it's big. Fantastic. Ecstatically big. SO EXCITED!

Who got me into Paranormal Romances?
Ultimately? Laurell K Hamilton. The first paranormal romance I ever read was in 2002, my Senior Year of High School, and it was a "A Kiss of Shadows".
I was hooked.
I blame (and love) Laurell K Hamilton for this.

Often the 1 stars are almost advertisements for your book though. There is one bad review I got complaining about the violence that I wrote a specific trigger warning for - they even reference the trigger warning. One reader told me that review is why they read the book.
It can be hard to swallow. I am more annoyed if I see a 2 or 1 star rating with no review. At least tell me WHY it sucked.
With the increase in connectivity though, it can be difficult for both authors and readers to know where 'the line' is.
I tend to not interact with reviewers other than to thank them for the review. But other authors approach it differently and have their own styles. What do you feel is best?
It was because they specifically complained about how violent a scene was even though we put trigger warnings on our book.
I digress.
Reviews are good for authors. They can give confidence boosts, yes, but if done properly they can also provide feedback on where an author can improve.
Reviews - a Perspective
I love getting reviews. What author doesn't? Yes, I even love the not great reviews. Only one of those I had an issue with - not because they didn't like my book.

Some readers believe that 3 stars means average. I tend to take those star ratings as someone trying to be fair especially if they leave no review.
@dreadpiratedash.bsky.social will be a full on published author in June and I am so proud of them! If you don't know who Bram and Magpie are, then you should catch up in Book 2 of the Mountain Fell for their introduction!

And does Kia points out prophecies become real when you don't listen.
Of course free will exists. Prophecies are just pattern reading and really good guesses at behavior based on observations of choices that will likely be made.
Mountain Fell - MC's Societal Thoughts?
Most of the MC are not happy with society as it stands. This is amusing, because all of them are technically part of the Ruling Elite.
Technically.
But hey, after a big war, who is happy?

Who makes the laws in the world of the Mountain Fell? Rulers. And there is a hierarchy amongst Rulers - the Mountain King/Queen is the highest of them all, and sometimes their Edicts last long after their deaths.
Follow up - A Peddler of Chains
The woman is Kiarian, and the man is Willow. This is the pair that is found in the dictionary under "Enemies to Lovers". IFYKYK.
Also, that dress. *drool*

A few folks asked about character illustrations - so I figured I would point at the cover of "A Bond of Thread" first. The man is Ilyas, the woman is Skye, and the tiny blue lady is Mycellica. Mycellica is the star. IFYKYK.

If you love female main characters that kick butt, are NOT Mary Sues, and swear more than most men - this is the series for you. Beware - if you are like me you might forget to sleep. Consider yourself warned.
This series is addictive - and there are more than 11 books. Many more.
The Kurtherian Saga by Michael Anderle
I cannot stress how much I love this series. It's more SciFi than the quick blurb promises - this thing has it all. Werewolves. Weretigers. Vampires. Aliens.

Why thank you!
As it seems this conversation is going nowhere, other than you trying to convince me I'm terrible (which you won't), I hope you have a blessed evening and enjoy a good book, show, nap, whatever.
That doesn't mean I like what the Military has done, or is doing, in all or even most instances. What it does mean is I look at the complication that is life, and I try to move forward with better knowledge. Me between ages 17-24 is not the 40 year old I am now. Thank the gods.
Again - I repeat - you are barking up the wrong tree.
Beating a dead horse - because you aren't actually saying anything about hte military or the United States that I disagree with.
I learned valuable things in the military, about myself and the people of the world. I'm proud of that.
I have never said that there is no culpability, or that i can't be criticized. What I said is life is complicated.
Nothing - and no one - is ever 100% bad all the time.
I made the best decisions I could with knowledge I had at the time.
I live with those. I learn. I grow.
Again - you assume a lot. I didn't participate in combat. I supported humanitarian work for Katrina.
The only time I personally went to the middle east was a multinational training exercise.
I didn't get sent to the warfront.
You keep assuming that I don't confront these things.
Learn to recognize real foes, friend. Because I'm not it. You don't know me. You see a profile picture, and you see 5 random facts. You make a lot of assumptions.
Do better.
I may not agree with most of my country's actions over the last 200+ years, and i never really have.
What I agreed with was the idea that we could be better, that we could aspire for Justice and pick ourselves up along the way.
Trust me, the grief in seeing them fail is real.
