I can’t even begin to imagine what the launch weather rules must have looked like. I wonder if ET icing would have been especially bad in those foggy conditions. Launches with short windows would have been tough to manage.

Every time conditions like this pop-up at Vandenberg, it makes me wonder if they ever could have flown the Space Shuttle from there. Something tells me that even if the technical issues could’ve been fixed, the weather would rarely have cooperated.
