Me just finding out that's why so many Char fans had that emote
I thought it was a fireball
Thank you!โจ๏ธ
After I finish with homework for the day, I'm hoping if it's not too late, that I can finish the rough animation, and start cleaning it up to color!
Some of what I've been up to in-between working on homework!
It's still a work in progress.
I want to practice more on my animations & storyboards to apply for the Studio Trigger position that just opened for 2027.

I hope you are ok
I'm wishing you a speedy recovery
All in all, it was a really good series, and I definitely recommend it whether your a Transformers fan or not!
This has been my ridiculously long review thread of Transformers Energon!
PS: Sorry it's so long ๐
I really liked TF Energon, and recommend it!
It takes a few episodes to really take off, so get past the "invisible starscream" mini arc if you're interested, it ends at like ep 9 or 10, and then it keeps going up from there.
I've noticed the series has progressively become more black and white in their story telling with each iteration since 2007, and not actually going into any issues aside from maybe a 1 episode one off every now and then.
Anyways back on topic.
The "robot fights are cool" thing has always been there, but as of late the message has been becoming more and more diluted in favored of being purely spectacle, and only very lightly going over the "we should accept each other's differences" message, but in a very shallow & superficial way.
I really like when Transformers does this, I think it's at it's best when it plays full on with it's anti-war pro-environment preservation themes. It's been a long time since they have done a Transformers series that goes into this, in favor of "robot fights are cool", and that's it.
Earth is dead, cybertron is dead, many other planets are also dead, and the populace from both planets are left having to start over from square one on a new planet. But this time with humans, autobots, decepticons, minicons, and omnicrons, working together as one.
So it's bittersweet, but hopeful
Many things from both of their cultures were lost to the war, and many of their friends and families died or will no longer be the same due to the war.
In the end, the humans, autobots and decepticons team up to fight the big bad (Megatron being possessed by galvatron), and even Megatron in his own was helps everyone take him out, (cause he was about to whipe out all life, including his own people's lives).
However, Earth and cypertron aren't saved
He is a jerk, the plot makes it a point that Kicker should be the better person compared to him, but they don't try to justify his dad. There are characters that try to justify his dad's actions and belittle his issues towards him, but the plot never does.
Now the human protagonist, Kicker, his dad in contrast constantly puts him in danger, willingly has him out in a war, and uses him for his abilities to further his research (he's a scientist).
Even the guy's parental figure dies in front of him the same day, protecting him. The only reason why they were on the battlefield was because they were drafted.
And they don't come back through the power of anime. When autobots die, 90% of the time they are gone for good in TF Energon.
He needed space robot hospice care.
This show did not shy away from letting you know kids in war (robot or human) could die any day. Like the Autobit kicker always hangs out with is a kid, and he ends up leading a team of even younger kid automotive, and they all die in front of him.
Dude had a Tem Ray Kamille Bidan like event, got head damage in battle, and was no longer like the person he used to be, and never went back to being that person either. He wasn't even fully aware from that point onwards, and the military, Megatron, and Alpha Q took advantage of that.
I know a lot of people didn't like how Starscream was acting in this series, like everyone's yes man stepping stool compared to the previous season, but that was the point.
He is no longer the Starscream he once was, and will never be again.
And his ptsd isn't a one and done thing, it's recurring. Even with the "you must face your fears" thing everyone yells at him, it doesn't go away, and the cast does start to realise "ok it's not just him being afraid, it's a trauma response".
Now Starscream... let me get into that
The human kid protagonist "Kicker Jones" is bassicly a child solider, being used in this war as a tool because of his abilities. He's like a living energon radar, and can talk to living planets. And he has ptsd from something he experienced during a mission back when he was a literal grade schooler.
Both earth, cybertron, and multiple other planets are lost for good, and as much as they try to do to save both planets, it is too late despite their efforts.
Then we have how this intergalactic war affects the cast personally.
However, they cant settle down on a new planet for good, because this war for recourses continues even in space, and the more this war continues, the more the recourses that are needed to sustain all like, human or cybertronia, are depleted for weapons use.
The large scale giant robot battles with space super weapons and battle ships, along with the increased depletion of energon, caused irreversible damage to the planet and made the earth an environment too dangerous for humans to live on, so they started migrating into space.
TF Energon didn't do that, it had a galaxy wide scope similar to the og G1, series, but took it even further.
From the start, the war between autobot and humans vs the decepticons are large scale, with large battalion both from earth and hypertrophy waging war on earth and other planets
In recent years, Transformers series have the battles take place on smaller scales, situated in one area, but with earth destroying situations all happening in one place, with 2 or 3 small units fighting. The damage is always contained.
It is one of the few Transformers series that have a bitter sweet ending and displayed the war against the Decepticons as an actual large scale war including the consequences of war.
I was binging Transformers Energon/Superlink while I worked on my Midterm, and... I already considered it one of my favorite Transformers series even though I never finished it (it's just that good), but now that I have, I can still confidentiality say it is!
