The pub I was in in Edinburgh was absolutely jumping. Even the French were thrilled, despite their result today!
It's about time everyone treated Italy as a serious team.

To think, I remember back in the day encoding a Depeche Mode CD to MP3, and it took about 3x as long to encode as to play. I was amazed when you could encode in real-time, and now I can encode 1080p H.264 faster than I can watch it!
We're living in the future!
Also, 64GB? Jings! 😲
It's astonishing using the Nvidia encoder. I guess you're using the GPU?
Would.
You wouldn't have that in an Edinburgh bus. You were only allowed to smoke in the back half, because the magic forcefield kept the smoke from reaching the front. 👍
One big opening for pills is that many people hate needless, and even more would squirm at the thought of injecting themselves. Pop a pill? No problem!
It makes the potential market much bigger.
Everyone had a copy! I already have one, but my lad wanted his own...
The old houses where Mother Superior was have all been demolished now. Lots of new housing, but still lots of old trouble. Edinburgh has changed a lot since then, and not at all...
Still, my son picked up a copy of the orange soundtrack yesterday in a second hand record shop!
There'll be one group of people writing factual reports, dense with information, which they'll ram through an LLM to add execuspeak.
Then management will receive the report and hit the "summarise" button because they don't want to wade through it all.
Two AI hits for zero gain...
Here's what mine looks like. Skewed by running the house on batteries just now! As you can see, it updates around every ten seconds.
My son quite likes them, even though he's 16, and I've never introduced him to them. It's funny what he finds on his own. But yeah, he's got an iPod hacked with Rockbox, and has some TMBG on it.
Ugly, ugly, 5-octave Yamaha synthesiser keyboard.
Yeah, you've got me beaten.
Not necessarily, if it was a cylinder vacuum. My gran's old Hoover didn't make any noticeable vibration on the house that I recall.
Made me chuckle regardless!
Awesome synth soundtrack. 😀
They're lovely and make me regret getting rid of my minidisc player. 😞
I've had two Squeezebox Radios not working lately. Thought it was PSU, but that didn't fix the boot loop.
Turns out they're looking for the old Logitech servers, filling their logs and crashing. Factory reset and we're good.
First track on one - David Bowie, Lazarus. The other, PPK Resurrection.
You missed "abysmally cringe-worthy AI-generated roast" off the list. It makes any gathering a party!
If you're not streaming your 192kb VBR MP3s over Cat8, can you really call it "Hi-fi"?
You're a madman.
I was reading an article about Blackpool football stadium, and that there was a hotel overlooking the pitch. You're not allowed to directly view the match from the room.
That left me thinking about a camera obscura, similar to what you have there.
Okay, and a Living Souls 99 and 1 to finish. You're not my mum.
I may have had whisky tonight. A Glengoyne White Oak. Very nice.
He might also have let slip about a counterfeit bottle. All bets are off then!
Walking the dog this evening, and met a guy I know who was chatting about whisky. He was comparing about variability.
Just going on the record here to say that once it's in the cask, it's in the lap of the gods. The blending team will do their best, but your next bottle might not be quite the same.
I remember these hooked up to Sun 3 machines at university. If you rotated the mag, they'd lose track, and fire your mouse pointer all over the place.
Not that we'd do that to an unattended machine...
Fuck that noise.
Honestly, that's because they understand "drop it"...
Mine does, anyway.
It starts in Spain, rather than USA, but we'd all better learn to swim! 😄
Is this the start of Stephen Baxter's "Flood"?
Med-I-Bot
Gutted there's no gif.
Is that a Shambler?
