Do what you love for a living, and you will never have a day off for the rest of your life.
I've been working on a game that turns the ten stages of genocide into a casual game that can serve as a primer for understanding the topic.

Many don't know about it, despite it having inspired the Holocaust and the coining of the term "genocide".
Many also don't know that genocide isn't a one-off event, but a process where each step is geared towards destroying the concept of a specific group of people.
Today is the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide where prominent Armenian intellectuals and community leaders were rounded up and detained, deported, or killed. What followed were the massacres and death marches that reduced the Ottoman Armenian population to a quarter of its original size.
Late little GDC post. Safe to say I had a good time.

Three self-inflicted days of frenzied torture later and we have The Missteps of Jonathan Gruber: A minimalist platformer where you swim through blocks suspended in a drab abyss.
Buggy, but playable. Just missing the cacophony jazz soundtrack
Play it!

Today is panic day #LDJam
The most important thing for staying sane in a game jam is to have a personal development goal. For this one, I'm determined to get to grips with Unity's animation system, so I don't feel guilty for spending the entire first day rigging, breaking, and re-rigging a single character ๐คทโโ๏ธ #LDJam
Excellent alt text
Gee I sure wish I had a way to organise all these ideas and make sure I wasnโt missing anything OH WAIT I doo! Game design notebook is doing its job nicely #ldjam
โDeeper and deeperโ feels like it was only a few jams ago but ok thereโs a theme to the themes so be it
Kicking off the jam with an unreasonable lie in ๐ด
LUDUM DARE LUDUM DARE LUDUM DARE! Itโs going to be a fine weekend
The rush that comes after making a Windows-only game work on a Mac after way too much tinkering is why gaming on a Mac will always be more satisfying
Last night I managed to get my little game as a little app onto my little phone and I have been riding that puny achievement high all day
Have you typed those keys to transparency?!
I'd say as an academic who has also worked in the industry and does practise-based research: don't write us off so fast! Many academics are designers, and many designers are doing academic research
That explains my new carpet crevice
Thatโs what that was?!? ๐ฎ
David Lynch saying one day the sadness will end. R.I.P.
