My New Year’s resolution this year was to run 12 5ks, one each month. 🏃♀️
January was a scratch thanks to the Nashville ice storm 🧊. Not a strong start already having to make one up (missed out on Girl Scout cookies at the Thin Mint Sprint too 😢), but here we go!

It’s a mess here, and there is much to say about what happened, a lot of finger pointing and rage bait circulating - focus on your neighbors y’all. It is not over yet for many.

We got power back on Monday night. ⚡️
Since then we’ve been scrambling to get our life back together & return the favors.
So grateful for the Graduate in midtown for giving us & a couple cats a place to land. 🙏

Our estimated power restoration date is now 2/8 😭🤬
Safe, but still without power at our home and our neighbors on the west side NES!
This feels like an epic failure in public trust and safety.

Hey #nashville us and a couple cats are going to try to make a break for it, I heard there is power closer to town, even in some hotels? We might start with the closest warming station and try to figure it out from there
This has been happening all around us in West Nashville today. The sounds are terrifying.
Power out since 5am, layering up for a cold night. Stay safe out there.
We are concerned with the temp drop that's going to start late this morning. Things may improve for a bit then get worse as winds increase and temps drop. Those with and without power should be thinking about their stay warm plan. Overnight low is 8°.

Oh yeah! We had a proposal for something similar earlier this year, iirc a tap effect widget in the core layer, that would underpin the material splash and the iOS highlight. I think it’s still a valid feature, we just need to reconsider with the updated design systems.
I gotta check the spec. MD has opinions about how MD behaves and looks on iOS, but definitely worth checking, or seeing if we can make it easier to find the button to turn it off. 😉
