I see a lot of people blaming the comics industry for the 6-figure debt that Peter David’s medical struggle put him into. But please, please don’t forget to blame the United States, where not having affordable health care is a personal failing not a community issue.

In college I had no idea who David Lynch was but rented Eraserhead because of the VHS cover. That film & everything after flipped my world around & made me see storytelling differently. His anti-traditional creativity, distinctive voice & gorgeous hair will be missed.
