That’s awesome! I’m in the same competition! Good luck to you 🥰

Didn’t I see this book on IndieReader last week? In the discovery awards, mayhaps?
My main character’s name is Jorden with an e and autocorrect HATES to see me coming
I loved working with you!
“I have learned” yes, this news is so very shocking and not at all expected 🙄
My agent brings the wise, again
'it’s healthier, especially in this current market, not to assign any kind of moral or qualitative value to being traditionally published.' among other nuggets of great advice

Had a great time at the meet and greet this weekend! We’re so close to 150 books sold, I can taste it!
As a fantasy author and reader, a folklore nerd interested in (real) Norse and Germanic myth and fairy tales, a singer: I have spent SO much time scouring profiles and bios for Nazi dogwhistles. Used to it.
So when I say the rise in use of the word heritage is freaking me out…yeah, it’s bad.
Wouldn’t that be the dream?
If only I didn’t live in the US!

I'm and east coaster myself, but all I see are west coasters on here!
When and where is this the party of law and order? What I’m seeing is murder in the streets done at the hands of insecure men with massive inferiority complexes.
When your platform is oppression, you can’t help but take out your self-indulgent victimhood on the communities you’ve infected.
I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.
The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.
I love these things because I can’t sit normal but my joints are so wiggly. PLEASE let me sit the way I want to without dislocating something! I got a criss-cross chair the moment it hit the market!
There are little things here and there that I pepper in from people that I know, but for the most part, no. I can only think of two characters in the whole Age of Monsters series that are tied to IRL people.
Erudite and good dad figure pretty much sums it up! The character in question is Doctor Ballan Hastings
There he is! That’s my favorite guy!
It’s ridiculous that you commented on this post specifically because the character is named Doctor Hastings and is referred to constantly as the doctor or doc
How is it already Friday again? My favorite line written this week was actually in another social media post:
“A pedantic Giles the librarian imposter who also happens to win the title of Foster Dad of the Year”
Truly, I think I’m hilarious
Very excited to announce that I’ll be doing a meet & greet in one of my favorite spots in Old Town Alexandria!
If you happen to be in theDC area on Valentine’s weekend, be my date for this book signing and conversation on all things Serpent’s Rise!

Would sort of blow the cover on the whole “monsters aren’t real” thing
My favorite thing about them is their eyes, which always seem to face in different directions 🥰
If you’re having fun with this, I actually have a whole podcast ✨for free✨ that dissects the mythology of the first book!
For the most part, yes. One does not simply jaunt about LA as a 15-foot golden bird 😞
This is probably a more appropriate place to mention the turul.
He’s a pedantic Giles the librarian imposter who also happens to win the title of Foster Dad of the Year.
Give it up for Doc Hastings 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

There are two important birds in The Serpent’s Rise. One is a turul, and the other is una lechuza.
A turul is a giant mythical bird from Hungarian mythos. Una lechuza is an owl, thought to be messenger of the underworld and considered omens of doom.

As a matter of fact, I have! Malphas is the tiny demonic sugar glider familiar of Xavier Greenwood.
He loves to eat and he loves to steal—sometimes to the party’s benefit, and other times their detriment.
But come on, who can resist that little face?
