the literal western of it all was part of the appeal for me, and as much as I loved the show I'm SOOOOO GLAD IT ONLY HAD ONE SEASON. Despite how progressive a lot of Whedon's work was of its time, the more he made the more he revealed his treatment of women and Firefly would have gone the same route
